I used lip liner and lip gloss. It stuck around better than lipstick and i could tweak it better. I really struggled to find "the" shade of lipstick but my go-to is Clinique Apple Brandy. It's not long wearing though, which is why I didn't wear it.
Have you considered lip stains? They're a pop of long lasting color without that gritty feeling. Benetint is a lovely red flush color (it sort of looks like you've been eating berries and they're stained your lips, but in a really flattering way :) and Posietint is the baby pink version. Your lips look like a soft yet noticable pink. I'm planning on using Posietint for my wedding look. You can also use both on your cheeks and they look super natural yet noticeable. They're a little pricey but last forevvveerr.
@ LittleAudrey - where can you buy lip stains? I guess I'm totally behind, I've never heard of those!
I've been looking for a good lip stain too. I tried a sephora brand but it severely dried out my lips and I have tried a covergirl one too but it didn't have staying power... Where can I get my hands on this benetint you speak of? haha
I got mine on amazon. You can also get them at Sephora.com. The full size is 28 dollars, or you can order a smaller one for like 17. The Posietint is easiest to wear during the day. It's very lovely and not too bright--bright enough to define your lips and give them a little pop of pale pink. Here's a youtube review
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka2pvYUPt9M&feature=related She rambles for 8 minutes but then you get to see her put it on- cheeks and lips.
I've tried drugstore brand lipstains (covergirl makes one) but they did not stay on all day, and seemed more like ink. Benefit's Posietint applies with a creamier texture, but still stays put like an ink.
I notice if I buff my lips (with a toothbrush or apricot scrub), let it dry, then apply lip stain, let it dry, then apply chapstick, I have soft lips all day with no peeling.
Hope this helps. I bought it and it was well worth the 28 dollars. I wear it all the time :)

I don't normally wear those "long wearing" lipsticks, but I figure it might be a good idea to use at the wedding. What are some good lipsticks that will last during my wedding day? I don't want to have to reapply it every hour!
