I finally got a dress for my July 2012 wedding!
First I purchased a JCrew dress from JCrew. Didn’t like the color (champange), all sales were final 🙁
Then I purchased a JCdrew gown on eBay. Needed too many alterations. Saw a sash added in Etsy photo, and didn’t like how that looked on the model. Decided to go fancier.
Saw a Casablanca 1900 on eBay that was actually mispelled and got out bidded at $255! 🙁
Decided no more sight-unseen dress purchasing. Found a dress liquidation sale 1 hour away. Dress shop was moving locations! Sucess!
I purchased (and took home!) a Casablanca 1769 sample dress for 50% off the regular price! Fits me perfectly and only needs a hemming (could be tricky with the lace) and a bustle. I added the sash and flower for the photo.
And the $4,100 Lea Ann Belter Alyssa dress I showed them for style preferences:

Great dress! You look stunning!

Love it! Can you wear heels and not hem? I wore wedge flips since my Casablanca sample would have been super hard to hem.

Thank you ladies! I do have several Etsy options saved.
@78h2o: That would be the easiest option to buy platform heels! A flip flop wedge wouldn’t be high enough I believe.
I’ll start researching my options.
I hope I can find a nice platform heel that isn’t going to cripple me by the end of the night, or look like a stripper shoe – that’s how high I think I need them to be to get the gown off the floor!
