Photographer- Michelle Allmon- I found her on Craigs list.  She has been amazing.  We did our engagement photos last October and couldn't be happier with the results.  I cannot wait until the wedding.

Cake- Fancy Cake Shop- Tammi- Her cakes are amazing.  Her prices are the best.  We are going with chocolate cake with pb icing.  That just screams Central PA.

Photobooth- Party Booths.  They are a national company and will travel anywhere.  Very resonable you can get a package for under $1000.

Flowers- Pealers Camp Hill- Nothing but high notes so far.  They did a mock up of the centerpieces and they looked great.  Also helping us out with linen rentals.

I am still looking for a chair rental company.  Anyone had a good experience with rentals?

Our vendors so far (p.s. - we're on a shoestring budget, so these may help other budget brides):

ceremony site: lititz springs park  (lititzspringspark.org)

reception site: the barn at overlook in manheim township. they're also providing the catering and and cake. the food tasting was AMAZING. At first they weren't great with communication, but now that we're getting closer to the wedding, they've been much more on top of everything. they don't have an official website, but their contact info is here: (www.kearesrestaurants.com/BarnysGrill/Receptions.html)

photographer: mariano delgado (www.artbydna.com/delgado) he actually lives in new jersey, but even with his travel fee he's more affordable than some of the other photographers we met with. really professional and friendly.

Thanks!

@bettingimnot: What are Young's packages like?

@sillyinphilly: I'm a budget bride too, so thank you! What kind of travel fee is Delgado charging?

@squeaky: the travel fee for ours is $100. our wedding is going to start early in the morning, so it was our suggestion to put him up in a hotel, too, the night before (so that he'd be well rested and not arrive late due to his long drive). but even with all of that, he still came in under $1000 (using his 2007 prices, using his 2007 prices, since we booked him then). good luck with your planning!

hey ladies! I got married on 6/21. Here are my vendor reviews for the York/Lancater area. :)

<span class="MsgBodyText"> DOC/Reception Venue: Daisy Pagan of Perfect Settings (www.perfectsettings.net)
Daisy was the greatest wedding vendor of all time. She was the most prompt about responding to my emails. And she was honest. She didn’t tell me yes if she thought it was a shit idea. She is the nicest person on the planet, and she looks like Halle Berry. No shit. I would recommend Daisy to anyone. She is my girl crush.

Florist: Brenda Smeltz at Vines in Thyme (www.vinesinthyme.com)
We had a few arguments that led to my on bridezilla-like moment. Dahlias. I wanted them. She didn’t want to order them. She was afraid the quality wouldn’t be good enough. In the end, she ordered them, and they were perfect. They had the exact look I wanted. Paired with daisies, Kermit mums, coral spray roses, and hypericum berries (which I didn’t want, but whatever), they looked awesome. If it had been any other vendor fighting with me, I would have just cancelled and found someone else. But I KNEW that her work was awesome. So I didn’t want to give that up. She totally came through.

Catering: George’s Famous (www.georgesbbqcatering.com)
Please don’t mind their totally awful website. Their food is GOOD. They are friends of DHs family. And we lucked out. We wanted to eat food that we would normally eat. Nothing too wedding-y. We went with Lemon Rosemary chicken breasts, Roast Beef, Roasted Red Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese with Stewed Tomatoes, and peas. I LOVE peas. Everyone raved about the food. Apparently no one had ever had Mac and Cheese at a wedding before. George’s can do down home BBQ type stuff or high class catering. I highly recommend them.

Cake: Renee at Bella Manse (www.bellamanse.com)
Renee is such a sweetheart. We had been to one other cake tasting before this and it was very business like. We went in, an assistant gave us some cake and we didn’t see the owner until it was time to talk dollars. They wanted $800 for a cake that served 130 people. We went to see Renee about a week later. She greeted us at the door to our house, she knew my mom and DHs name and she treated us like friends. Her cake was beyond delicious. And more than half the price. She can do anything. When I saw our cake at the reception, it was exactly like I pictured it. And people loved it. Like, eating 2 and 3 slices loved it.

Photography: Young’s Photography (www.youngsphotography.net)
Tim and Wendy are great. They are family friends. It’s really nice to work with a husband/wife team. They feed off each other’s energy. And got some really awesome shots. I can’t wait to see the pro pics!

DJ: Diane Dayton of Class Act (daytoncommunications.com/classact1.html)
Diane has worked in radio for a while. And her voice is so soothing. She did a great job of making the music fit the mood. We had been to a wedding the week before ours and the Dj played 80s rock during the dinner. Loudly. Everyone was able to hear the music and still talk. Which was really nice. She stuck to my do not play list even though my drunk cousin thought it was necessary to keep asking for the Macarena.

Videographer/Filmographer: Randy Simon of 3600 Frames (www.3600frames.com)
Randy was super awesome. He films in Super 8. Which is going to give us a real old school feel. We were up in the air about having a videographer. The price was out of our budget. And we have friend who have NEVER watched their wedding video. But then I saw a bulletin on Myspace from a friend of Randy’s, offering free filmography to build up his portfolio. Ding, Ding, Ding! Yes please! He was so much fun to work with, totally unobtrusive and rad as hell. He is booking up really quickly now.
