Basically a band, but ours is a group of friends from church, they are going to play some worship music like three songs, kinda a mini concert if you will, and then we are going to say our vows. But you need someone to run the sound board. That's what the church is charging me extra for
They should have let you know of this charge in advance (like when you booked the church).
My church forces me to hire their organist. Most churches in my area force you to hire their musicians or soloists, even if you are a member of the church.
The church I'm using (where my parents and sister go) have a $150 charge for a sound guy. This is the same for members and non-members. But, it was in the contract when I booked the church. They should have let you know when you booked.

Yep. At least they're going to be doing the sound for your whole worship team. I have to pay the sound guy regardless.
I don't know if this would jeporadize any relationships you have with these people, but I would say something about it. I'd let them know that you did not budget for this and that the fee was never brought up. Hopefully they'd drop it or at least charge you less. Good luck!

I am having my wedding at a church I used to go to many years ago. I am having the pastor and worship team from the church I go to now, play and perform the ceremony. I just found out to pay a sound guy from the church we are holding the ceremony at is charging me $200. I can't believe it, that seems like a lot to me, but I have no choice, just thought i'd vent my frustration.
Last minute stuff before wedding really hits the wallet hard. I thought we budgeted for everything, guess I was wrong.
