So I wanted my bridesmaids to find something they could wear again (I know, so cliche, but really!) and told them I was open to different styles as long as they could match color and fabric. My colors are blue and white. We started at department stores and found the Calvin Klein at Macy’s, where my mother checks weekly to see if we can find it at a reasonable price with coupons. We tried David’s Bridal, had a terrible experience, and have been communicating via email about Alfred Angelo, who has a store near me but nothing near them (we have a massive email chain going, as one is now out of the country!) I only have two bridesmaids and I have begged them to decide soon, so I am soliciting other input. I really don’t want to force a dress on them – they have been so sweet and are both paying for graduate school, so cost is an issue, but my mother and my future MIL have offered to help somewhat.
They are perfect sizes 2 and 4 (damn them! if they weren’t my friends… 😉 but one is only 5 feet tall and very short waisted, so hers will be altered significantly. They liked a chiffon dress at DB so the Alfred Angelo is a favorite compromise. They wanted straps of some kind but didn’t love the way the CK tapered at the hip.
Sorry to get so windy but I need advice!

Love the Chiffon one too!

If it helps, I’m a size 2, 5’1″ and extremely short waisted! I would perfer #1 because it looks like it would fit me better since the waist isn’t so defined. I’m pretty sure I would have to wear #2 in a petite size.

I like the chiffon one! I think it would fit better on both the girls as well has still give them the option to wear the dress again. Here is another AA dress that kind of combines the style of the first one witht he structure of the CK dress, if you wanted to go that route(:

@daisylnn I loe that dress!

I clicked “Calvin Klein” on accident, but actually meant the chiffon one. I was confused because the pictures are in a different order than the poll. Go with the chiffon dress!

I like them both looks wise but I will give you a word of warning. AA has the worst quality bridesmaid dresses i’ve seen anywhere. if you go with AA, chances are they won’t wear them again because despite costing $180, it looks cheap up close and is poorly made. I was a BM recently and had a AA dress. when i took it for alterations my seamstress confirmed that AA dresses are the worst ones she sees.

@Daisylynn…so funny, but my mom JUST sent me that dress! lol Unfortunately, it doesn’t come in my colors (boo – I have no idea why, these bridal stores have something against dresses I like in a deep blue/cobalt). It is beautiful!
@hedgeknits…Sorry! I have never posted a poll before and loaded them in the same order they were on my pc – thanks for clarifying.
@ashkinn11…Those are almost exactly my BM measurements! We are looking for it in petite…if you find it anywhere please let me know!
@Meowkers…This is actually the first bad thing I’ve heard about AA! We had such a terrible experience at DB we thought no store could have worse quality, maybe. Can you elaborate? What would you think about an online version from netbride? I would never want to pay $180 for a terrible dress.

What about a seamstress and a pattern? I had one made, and that dress fit me like a glove!
