Ok Bees, I'm looking for some suggestions. I have two stepbrothers that I'd like to include in the wedding but I'm not sure how.

They'll be 9, almost 10 at the time of the wedding (twins). One of them has some developmental issues, so the developmental age is really closer to 5. They were ring bearers at my mother's wedding and stood up with their dad but it was a mess!! They were everywhere and such a distraction. And really, they haven't changed much since then.

So ladies, what besides RBs or junior groomsmen could they do? I was thinking of some adults ushers, but I haven't dismissed the idea of them passing out programs. Anything else you guys can think of?

    Thanks!

They could also be train bearers or "criers"... the people who come out with the "Here Comes the Bride" sign immediately before you walk down the aisle? I also like the idea of them handing out programs or whatever your send off is (bubbles? confetti? rose petals?" And if you're having an aisle runner, they could be the ones that open that before flower girls came down? Just some thoughts...

Can they walk down the aisle as part of the processional and then go sit with the parents?  That is what I did for my five year-old flower girl.  She stayed with the bridesmaids as I walked down the aisle and then when my dad gave me a hug, she just snuck off into the pew.

Don't do programs if they are unpredictable.  I had two teenage girls do programs and they must have let their young cousin help out.  When I pulled up in the limo, I saw him shove a program at a guest and then spit on the group right in front of the church.

I'm having a similar issue - except my little men aren't develop. challanged. We have humored the idea of having them carry my train (if I even end up having one!), straightening out the aisle runner, hand out fans to overheated guests waiting, or even walk in our moms and sit with them. I look forward to hearing any other ideas you bees have too! I'll keep an eye on this post. Good luck June Bug!

Thanks ladies! Mastro, I don't think I've ever seen a "crier", are they popular? I also really like the idea of them handing out the the send off items! I was thinking I might get an older kid or teenager to kind of watch over them do their stuff, too.
