Hi everyone! Future husband needs help again!
My gf really likes the little mermaid so I want to incorporate that into my beach proposal, but I’m not sure what else I can do. We’re going to San Diego for VDAY this year and I plan on doing it at La Jolla cove theno while the water splashes against the rocks. I plan on buying a mermaid ring box to present the ring in also. perhaps I can put “I wan. To be a part of your world in my speech” or have the instrumental play while we walk on the beach, but other than that I don’t know what else to incorporate.
Is is this enough little mermaid incorporation Or can anyone think of a simple task I can do.
On another note, did anyone have a beach proposal that including any special touches? Were there any cons to the beach proposal like bad smells, too many people, etc. i love the beach and she loves the outdoors so I think this is a good combo of what we both like.

@otto2008: just make sure not to be too close to the ocean! the last thing you want is an accidental drop into the ocean!!

@otto2008: I think it is so sweet that you’re personalizing it for her. What a nice bf!

Now I’ve got “under the sea” stuck in my head 😛

@otto2008: Maybe you can have a small toy treasure chest with you as you picnic on the beach. In it is a fork and other small items Ariel had among her collection of all things human, and finally, the ring box you pull out. Say that she is your greatest treasure and ask her to be a part of your world?
You know, there’s also the Little Mermaid ride that opened at California Disney (not Disneyland, but California Disney is where the ride is located, I believe.) Can you extend your San Diego trip to go on the ride itself and ask her there? Part of the ride includes the famous boat scene where they are about to kiss. If you do that, be sure to tell the person running the ride that you would like a car for just the two of you! I think that otherwise they seat four and that would be awkward having to deal with someone else in your car in your moment.

Hire a choir to pop out of the bushes and sing the “part of your world” reprise from the end of the film, drop to one knee, and give her your speech?
Hide a seashell on the beach somewhere with a fake ring in it (just in case) and picnic next to it. Make sure she finds the shell, or find it for her and give it to her.Rig some kind of music bod in it to play “part of your world” in it, or have a scroll in it that pulls out asking her.

OH MY GOSH!!! Yes….. totally do it on the boat ride and you can propose and then kiss like Ariel and Eric did… As a fellow Little Mermaid lover….I would just die 😀 And you can put the ring in a closed shell and present it to her in that. *swoon*

@otto2008: I just got engaged on a San Diego beach yesterday! There were people surfing and walking on the sand but we were above the beach overlooking it. So people didn’t bother us but some did see us and started clapping 🙂 It was awesome.
I think your little mermaid plan is cute! Maybe you could get one of those engraved forks from Etsy that say I do or bride and groom? Call it a dinglehopper (or whatever she calls it) and give it to her before the ring? Then you could use them on your wedding day too.
(Edited because I’m an idiot )

@westcoast_girl: Tee hee! 🙂 The idea totally just came to me out of the blue. But wouldn’t that be awesome? I remember watching that scene as a young girl and sighing. So magical!

You could have a steel drummer play “kiss the girl” 🙂
