41 days to my wedding and I'm starting to feel like I'm in a pressure cooker! I just listed out nearly everything that needs to get done [FI, me, both of us] on separate lists and just the uneven breakdown of things to do shoots my stress levels higher! The page of things WE need to do is 1/2 page long, FI's To-Do list is 1/3 of a page long, and mine...MY list is 3 pages long and I KNOW I'm missing/forgetting things that should be on the list! Then I started to think about how I'm starting a full-time job Aug. 2 so my free time is going to be cut in half. I feel like I'm about to hyperventilate!

How are the rest of you handling the looming deadlines? Any tips or tricks to good stress management? Anyone else feel like crying and/or running away?

I totally lost it last week. But I'm taking things one at a time and they seem to be getting done. Hang in there, check things off the list. It's going to work out.

I feel your pain. I just moved to a new city and started a new job.  I've got 28 days left. I can't believe it's coming up already.  I keep trying to tell myself not to stress and to just breathe.  It will get done because it has to get done.  No need to "stress" per se.  One thing at a time and the list will go away.  Then I run to the bathroom and pull my hair out from the stress.  I think this is normal.  We're getting close and it's just part of the experience.... I think...

@rachelss: Glad you're pulling it together now! What helped you gain your sanity back?

@hotwings: Eeek! If I had to move right now I'd explode. It would be the straw that broke this camel's back! You have my totaly sympathy! Good luck with the new city, new job, and theses last days of planning!

I have been freaking out.  I ususally am not like this.  I will sound really b**chy to myself, it's weird!  FI has been great about it.  Honestly I have been eating a lot of ice cream :/ which isn't the best solution.  I have also been taking it easy, and going over details and making backup plans- that helps me relax -to have those under my belt.  I leave tomorrow!!  eek!

I had a stress attack this week. I cried over cakes and vases. It wasn't pretty. Since then, I've prioritized and taken lots of deep breaths.

My FI lost his job on Thursday so the stress skyrocketted again, but I'm holding it together. Today I'm getting a lot done, so hopefully crossing stuff off my list will feel good. :)

You can do it @rabbit! Don't panic.

@cbee: I haven't cried yet, but I freak out over small things, yell, then freak out over freaking out. *sigh* Ice cream actually sounds like a GREAT solution! :D I don't know how to make Plan A for things, much less plan B or C...I think if I could throw money at it, I would, but we're over budget as it is. :( Good luck tomorrow! :D

@toothfairyb: Oh no! I hope the deep breaths are helping! If you need to vent, feel free! I've been having a vases crisis myself lately!

I am very sorry to hear that your FI lost his job. I wish you, and he, a mountain of luck in getting a new, better, job soon! What did he do/es for work?

Also, I see you're in Vancouver! I lived there for a year. I still pine for the mountains, beaches, and the city. *sigh*

@rabbit: Whenever I leave the mountains I miss them. They're a part of my soul I think. My FI does computer stuff for a living. I'm sure he'll have no probably finding another job - it's just finding the right one that is tricky. I'm trying not to stress out about that since I have so much else going on!

I found some vases today that I liked so hopefully they're going to work and I can stop stressing about them!

oh i am So there.... although i am starting to reach the point where i really JUST DONT CARE anymore. i mean i have made decisions for the last 8 months and i am really DONE with it.

like my mom was like "when are you doing your bridal portraits" me: "dunno" *shrugs*

mom: "do you have something to wear for your RD?" Me: "dunno" *shrugs*

mom: "have you thought of x, y, z?" me: *shrugs*

i really just dont care anymore. i want it to be over so i can get on with living my life with my new hubby. is that too much to ask??!

@toothfairyb: Yay for finding vases! I too think I've found some vases. The original ones I'm in love with at $3 each, but I found some $1 which are close. I have to decide if the difference in the appearance between the two are worth an extra $2 per vase...(I'm leaning towards not!)

@spaganya: I actually think you're VERY lucky! I only WISH anyone else at all in the whole universe (ok, anyone outside of weddingbee! ;p ) took any interest in helping me, offering me advice, etc. I am almost 100% on my own to remember x, y, z, etc. If you get tired of the questions from your mom...I'd be willing to borrow her from you for a while. ;p I do totally get not caring anymore. I went from totally uptight "this NEEDS to be perfect OMG!" to "I just need to get this done! Who cares what it looks like?!" So, you have my sympathy. Also- we're nearly wedding twins! I get married the day before you! Yay! :D

@rabbit: Yay for finding vases!! It's such a relief to be able to check things off.

@spaganya: I am getting to be the same way! I go through phases of really caring and then saying whatever I don't care anymore!! I get lots done in those periods because I don't agonize over ever detail :)

@rabbit: LOL you can totally have her! want her number? she would be stoked to help LOL

@toothfairyb: same here - most of the stuff that NEEDS to be done is done already - the stuff that is left is really stuff that was DIY that i was thinking of doing as extra stuff, but at this point, i really dont care. it will be SUCH a relief to finally walk down the aisle and put all the planning behind me...

I am at the point where I don't care if anything else gets done. Our outfits are perfect, we have the marriage license and so no matter what on Aug 21st we are getting married.

I no longer care about what I use for a card box, or escort cards etc. I was the MOH at my BF's wedding last weekend and I just realized the details DON'T matter!

    It's a good place to be ;-)

I have 8 more stupid favor bows to tie...

The rest is DIY stuff that I would like to do (and have done most of)

I have to Mercury Glass the centerpieces... I think that is my last must do.

Oh yeah... work with my sister who is writing our ceremony...

Dance lessons... FI broke his sholder 2.5 months ago.  He is finally allowed to start moving it around and we will probably start dance lessons soon... we really need it.

I am not stressed out completely yet but I seriously don't get stressed out about events (I plan events as part of my job) but I am going to a wedding this weekend and I think that I will go into overload after the weekend.

I'm feeling okay right now, but I know the panic isn't too far away (I'm on the "relaxing" part of the roller coaster at this time). RSVPs are coming in, my escort cards are almost done (just waiting for the grandparents to get theirs in), I have a call into my cake guy to find out when the final payment and flavor decision is due, and I'm finalizing our event/catering contract this week. Hair and makeup trial is on Saturday. Second fitting is August 28 and then I'll have to start looking for potted flowers to purchase for the centerpieces. That's really the part that has me freaking out, because I don't want to purchase too far out from the wedding, in case the plants start shedding their blooms.

But, I'm so ready for our minimoon, it's ridiculous.

@Ms. Caniche: I hear you on the bows! I tied baker's twine into bows on all 100 of our invites. By the last one I was starting to mutter nasty things to the twine under my breath! ;p AND I have to tie bows on all 100 favors really soon too. *sigh* So, you see, I feel your bow pain! How does one Mercury Glass the centerpieces? Is this a kind of painting process? Love to hear about it! Also, good luck on the dance lessons! We won 3 free ones a few months ago and went for our 3 lessons. It was a lot of work but also so fun! :D Hopefully its not too hard on your FI's shoulder.

@Goldilocks1107: I WISH my RSVP cards were coming in! They're been out for a full month and we've only received 5 back! (and two of those were given to me in person). I'm on the verge of crying over the lack of RSVPs. :( Good luck on finding the perfect potted plants for your centerpieces! i think if I had to throw another wedding i'd probably go that route.

@Future Mrs. Martin: I am hoping I find that good place in the next few weeks! :)

@spaganya: Before yesterday I would have jumped at your offer! But yesterday my FI and FMIL told me that FMIL has procurred the services of a DOC for me! One of my largest worrys and stressers is now gone! Yay! If your mom is any good at planning weddings maybe she should do that on the side...then she'll be nice and distracted by other weddings...giving you some space to breath! :)
