I don’t have anything to share but I’m sure my FI would! He’s been living with my family for over a year now.

@ArmyWife8806:  Haha, my DH would also have some stories! We lived with my family for one summer before we moved to NY to go to grad school.

When I moved to this state FI and I lived with his mom and her FI for about 8 months. I love his mom to death but it was weird it was like living with roomates and like living with my mom….when I was 14 lol but at the same time. Like I had to ask permission to have people come over and such. Again I love his mom to death but two women in one household doesn’t work very well….if I pay rent I shouldn’t have to ask permission for a friend to come hang out, enough said!

@Mrsgurzakovic:  Yea and you can’t say anything to FI/DH about it because that’s HIS mom. I feel like his mom and I have a much better relationship now that we don’t live in the same house. And yea she would often cook and then give FI some to “try” knowing that I was already cooking something, and then he would just want whatever she made because it was already right there. There will always be good days and bad days, and again I love his mom and she is a wonderful person. I really don’t think it matters who the person his and whether you get along or not, it never works having 2 women of the house it will always be either a competition or a disappointment. Hopefully you will have your own place soon, until then make the best of it and maybe next time you want to cook or something talk to her and make it more like an offer to give her the night off and you can cook for everyone. That’s what I did, although I think she was a little upset when her FI liked my mac and cheese better than hers lol. Not like forreal upset but just like wtf lol

@Mrsgurzakovic: I never really left home. We lived on our own together for a month and that was a horrible situation so we moved back home. I know he has a ton of stories and some complaints but I won’t go into detail. The transition seemed easy for him but it wasn’t for my family and that’s a long story in itself. We’ve got a lot of support from my family and they love him. Took some getting used to for everyone, that’s for sure. He complains about things but I ignore it. He should be so thankful.
