@Cori14: Hi, I was thinking of trying on Lizette Royale and wanted to know what the material was like and if the dress was heavy?  I have a Sept wedding so it could be terribly hot out and I don't want to be sweltering under a lot of material.  Also, was the sample dress diamond white?  I just want to get the jist of the dress so I know what to expect.  Thanks a bunch!  ~K

@KandJ_15: you should definitely try it on to get a feel for the dress. But in terms of my personal opinion I liked its weight. As I mentioned above I previously had MS Isadora Marie and that dress was significantly lighter than this one. However I found that I could still quite easily pick up the front of the dress to walk around (my main concern was trying not to get stuck on all of the other dresses as I walked back into the fitting room lol) I didn't find myself sweating in the dress like i did with my first dress MS Rachel, if thats any help at all? I will mention though that Im from Australia so my June wedding will be in the middle of winter.

Yep the sample is diamond white and I am going to order it in white.

    Hope this has helped. :)

@Cori14: That definitely helps me out.  I get hot so easily so I get nervous with purchasing a ball gown for a September wedding.  I would probably sweat because of nerves regardless of the season haha.

Right now I am finding my biggest issues is locating the dress.  I am in NY/NJ so you would think it would be simple but I've called 10 or 12 stores and I've had no luck.  I am going to try to call more but even Klienfeld's didn't have it.  Did your store mention anything about it being hard to locate?  I know your in Australia so we are in 2 different part of the world, but I was wondering if they might have said something.

One last question, is the diamond while a bit yellow-ish in person?

    Thanks for the reply! :)

eah i understand that, hence the winter wedding lol!! yeah i'm not getting a coat or anything cause i figure ill be a bundle of nerves lol.

Wow, that really sucks, can any of them order it in for you?

My shop didn't mention anything but they only just got it in, so yeah maybe it is hard to get?

Anyway, I remembered that I found an image of a girl in this dress a few weeks ago so i did some Facebook searching for you and i found a Facebook page for a place called Blushing Bride Prom Paradise and they seem to have it.

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blushing-Bride-Prom-Paradise/272912539598

4756 Lake Rd, Brockport, NY 14420

    Have you tried there?

As for the colour, it was more like a light ivory, i think the pics just turned out that way from the lighting… you should see my face… it looks appalling lol

lol, its nice to have someone to talk to about my dress haha.

@Cori14: I am glad we can chat about your dress also :)  Its def exciting and I am really happy for you! I am having so much fun with this process.

Thank you so much for doing a little digging for me.  I really appreciate it :)  I checked out the link and unfortunately that particular place is about 6 hr + away from me.  I guess its up in NY state prob closer to the Canada side :(  I am determined to try it on though, so I will def call more locations today to seek it out.

The yellow-ish question was more general.  I didn't think the diamond white looked yellow haha.  I just ask because when I tried on a Pronovias dress it was almost like a light butter yellow color.  Definitely pretty but was very golden, so I was wondering if the Maggie dress was the same.

So is this "the dress"?  What was the price if you don't mind me asking.  I think i read its between $1500-1700.  I just wanted to get a ball park.

    Talk soon!

@KandJ_15: haha, glad to hear it :). yeah same, we've been engaged for 18 months now, so its exciting that the big day is under 12 months away now.

Oh that sucks!! worth a shot though!

Yeah its just funny how it showed up so yellow in the pics though, I cant wait to try the white on when I have my first fitting :)

Yeah, it is "the dress" (although I also said that about the 2 previous dresses). I have now banned myself from going into the store until october when we have to order the dress, for fear i may try something else on and want to go with that. I just get so swept up on the whole trying on beautiful things that I confuse myself haha.

Well, even though our $$ are fairly similar atm, our dress prices here are HEAPS more expensive than over there, which sucks but what can you do lol. Im pretty sure it's $3100ish… My invoice from the store kinda baffles me atm due to all the changes Ive made to my original lay by lol.

    :)

@Cori14: I know what you mean about feeling like dress A is "the dress" but then falling for dress B and not being able to help urself because you realizing dress B does just a little more than dress A. I think everyone's dress experience is different.  Some people cry, some need to try on hundreds and some try on one and that is it.  I've tried on about 15 (give or take) and it was helpful because I tried on every style and material.

I didn't realize dresses were that much more expensive in AU.  Is that because of currency or because they need to send the dress to AU from the US?  I can't believe its literally double :(  Is there anything you can do about it?

@KandJ_15: the thing that also made it hard was that i started trying on dresses before I lost weight, and I was bigger than my "normal" weight so i generally just didn't feel comfortable. As a result I went for the typical hide everything styles. Then when I started loosing I went a found another dress, which was great for that stage of weight loss, but again when I lost more it just looked like i could do better. So here we are haha.

Yeah, its phenomenal but I've just put it down tot the fact that we are so far away from everywhere and it costs us more to get everything shipped. Mind you though, even lour Australian designed and made dresses are the same price if not more because it costs more to manufacture stuff here. Its amazing its not just dresses that are more expensive here… its everything lol. So really the only thing i could do would be to fly to the US and get it cheaper, but the cost of flights etc… well who can afford to fly to the other side of the world to get a dress before their wedding haha. Or i could get a replica but I really don't want to lol.

@Cori14: I completely understand the weight loss journey.  For most of my life I've been on the heavier side.  I carried it well and was proportionate but still would have trouble losing it.  9 months into Jason and I dating, I was tired of being happy I found a good guy but still loathing how I looked in the mirror.  Fast forward a year later and I lost 65lbs on Weight Watchers. It was an amazing feeling and I was extremely proud of myself. Then in an unexpected turn of events, I injured myself in a class at my gym and slowly gained a majority back.  At first it was incredibly depressing but I've come to realize I can only move forward. Fortunately my injury is finally getting better and I can work out almost at my old pace but for a year and a half I've been babying a hurt neck, shoulder and back- not fun!

I wondered, due to the weight gain, if I would be discouraged from dress shopping. I asked my friend and fellow bride to be, "is the dress still the dress no matter what your size or how you feel about yourself".  Of course a mermaid might look more flattering on a smaller figure, but would it still be your dress no matter what? I ultimately got shocked upon shopping.  I ended up liking the exact shape I thought I would and it was the same style I would have probably ended up with when I was at a lower weight.  So I guess in some ways the dress is the dress.

As for the Aussie price tag, I am sorry to hear that things are so pricey out there.  I can totally see why, I mean your on the other half of the world! haha Which, btw I think is awesome.  Here I am in New Jersey (not like the jersey shore people!) and there you are in Australia, haha.

So since you are already in such a great place that people love to visit, where are you and your future hubby going on your honeymoon? :)

@KandJ_15: how strange is that… im currently doing weight watchers :) So far I've lost 28.8 lbw which Im really happy about :) i get the hating the reflection type thing as well… vie never been tiny, but Even when I put the weight on, I still fit my clothes but I was just uncomfortable… it came to a head one night when I turned my computer on and I saw my reflection on the boot up screen and I burst into tears…

Thats horrible about your injury… its amazing how something so random can take away all of that progress. Im so happy for you though that you have come through it and are back on track. You should be very proud of yourself.

Thats great that you knew yourself so well that you were able to pck something that is ultimately "you" despite your weight. I also loved the same general style it was more the height of the waist that has changed. My initial dress had a "natural" waist with a big bow on the back, which really just hid everything… even though I loved the puffiness of the skirt :).

haha I know, its so crazy that a wedding dress can make to people on opposite sides of the world chat haha!

haha were actually doing a cruise around the Pacific islands from Queensland which should be amazing (and slightly warmer since the wedding is in winter and we're based in New South Wales)

What about you? My FI brother and his wife went to the US for a month for their honeymoon and LOVED it. They did the whole Route 66 thing and then spent time in a few of the states. :)

@Cori14: Aw weight watchers buddies haha.  The only thing I am doing a little differently on the plan is I am counting my fruit as points.  I kind of went with the mentality of the old plan, so we will see how it goes.  It's been hard getting back into it, especially with the new plan but thus far I've lost a little over 10lbs.

Your honeymoon sounds like its going to be amazing! Lot of fun with unforgettable, incredible sights.  Those particular islands are on we Americans top 5 list of vacation destinations. I def want to see pictures :) hehe

As for our honeymoon, since we are in one of the worst weeks of hurricane season we decided to take on Hawaii.  It was a toss up between Hawaii and Italy.  Italy would have been phenomenal and it was highly recommended, just not so much to Honeymooners.  There is so much to do, see, eat, experience, etc that a lot of blogs mentioned you feel like you need a vacation after your vacation lol.  So Hawaii it is.  We decided to do Italy on our 1 year Anniversary :)

We did look into alternate locations like fiji, cook islands, maldives, mautitius, greece, bora bora, barbados.  They were all gorgeous, remote and amazing honeymoon destinations, but a majority were extremely expensive and the flight time would be exhausting.  Maybe one day! lol

Have you ever been to the Pacific Islands before?  I am jealous, you are so close to them! haha  But I guess thats like the Caribbean for us.  Although I think the Pacific Island beat out the Caribbean any day of the week!

PS- thanks for your words of encouragement regarding the injury :)

Hi again, sorry its delayed, had no internet connection :s.

well done on your weight loss so far :) Im sure you'll have great results!!

Haha yeah I must say we're pretty excited ourselves, should be nice and relaxing after the stress of the wedding :)

Yeah we were thinking of Hawaii ourselves for a while, Im so jealous, it looks so beautiful!!! Im sure you will have a great time!!!  :) But I would love to have gone to Europe again (I went there in 2007) and yes you MUST go to Italy, but as you said it is Very full on and probably not what you want to be doing straight after a wedding! Im sure your anniversary will be amazing as well!

Yeah all of those amazing islands are very expensive, especially if you want more than just a hotel room. We looked to and I just cant justify $1100 p/p p/night!!! lol

No we haven't so it will be exciting. Ive been to Europe as I said before and also New Zealand, which I also highly recommend! Its just such a naturally beautiful and untainted place!

    :)

@Cori14: Hello Australia :)  Sorry for the hold up.  I was out of state for all of last week.  Jason and I had to attend his cousins wedding in Kansas so it was quite interesting.  Very different than east coast weddings!

Thanks for the encouraging thoughts and yes I will definitely be going to Italy no matter what.  And I don't blame you for not being able to justify $1000 per person per night on the lovely islands in the south pacific.  I would love to do it, but I couldn't justify it either.  It would cost half of our wedding budget to go there, lol.  Maybe on our 25th wedding anniversary?  lol

Since I've been gone and computer-less for over a week, I feel so out of the wedding loop.  I need to refresh myself and go back to oogling over dresses and picking out the little details :)

What are your wedding colors if you don't mind me asking?

@KandJ_15: Haha it seems like were both struggling to get net time lol.
    Really? how are they different?
We dont really have a great difference here.

lol, well our honeymoon has since changed, there's a company over here called Cudo and they have daily deals and basically if you get enough people who want to buy the deal, you get whatever it is at a great price. So, I saw one last week for 5 days in Queensland's Whitsundays including all meals, alcohol etc, so we snapped it up and cancelled the cruise... Im soooo excited!! They pick us up on a helicopter!!! I still cant believe it :)

haha I know im the same I havent been on here for a while either so everything has changed lol.

Im having navy, white, nude with red accents... what about you?

@Cori14: The Bee was not letting me log in :(  no log in = no reply (wtf).

Well weddings in Kansas are different because they do not really go to a venue or have a "fancy" style wedding.  Basically it was a church ceremony, but following that was a reception at the local hall.  (not being judgemental) but it appeared to be more of a cafeteria type place than a venue.  Everyone dressed casually- jeans, sneakers, etc and the food was made by friends of the family.  It was all very sweet and very nice but very different from my usual.

So you got rid of honeymoon plan A and ran with B :)  I like it!  We have daily deals like the site you mentioned also.  Ours are Groupon and Living Social, plus I think some wedding sites do wedding related deals.  I haven't seen any deals for Hawaii yet but thats great that you found one for you :)  Is 5 days enough?  I would need more! haha

My colors are coral and purple.  Since I am September I decided to go with colors that compliment both summer/fall.  I am in love with the coral color that I am considering.  Here is a link to show you the color: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2832/
I saw it in person a few days ago and really liked it.  The dress style would compliment Lizette nicely. . . although you might want your girls to look different.  I think I am going to end up with Pronovias so I don't know if this style will work for the whole picture.

I really like your color palette. . . a modern twist on the vintage nautical style.  Very nice!  Do you have your Bridesmaid dresses picked?

@KandJ_15: yeah it seems to do that quite a bit, its a pain lol.

Oh wow, that is um, different lol. As long as they enjoyed it though right lol.

Yeah, I know 5 days its much, I would've liked more, so were thinking a few days after somewhere along the coast line, then a few relaxing days at home before heading back to work lol. So in total well be having 3 weeks off :)

They will be beautiful together!! They are honestly 2 of my favourite colours :) Yeah I did actually look at that dress at one stage, but Ive now decided to let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses, so they will all be different. The only restraints are must be navy, and full length, and they all have to decide on all satin or all chiffon. So we'll see how that goes lol.

Send me a link to the dress you're now thinking of!! Have you tried it on? Im sure it will be beautiful!! :)

Finally!  I got to see Lizette in person!  I was in a funk and needed a pick me up so I went to a local shop that does not require appointments and there was Lizette!  Man, you ladies make it look east to wear!!!  That dress was HEAVY! haha  Beautful to say the least but I was shocked at how heavy she was. I did not try her on because she was a size 8.  I am a street size 12/14= wasn't happening :(  I was able to get one leg in, LOL

@Cori14: are you wearing it with all the underlining?  Also are you doing the matching veil?  Flower in the hair?  I love hair flowers :)

@some2011one: is Lizette "the one"? :)

@Cori14: I was totally going to do the same thing with my bridemaids, but for some reason convincing my mother that the girls can wear all different dresses was like launching a space shuttle.  She was not having it.  Granted its my day but hey, make Momma happy, lol.  My girls will be in all chiffon :)  Lighter for September, but def full length and they actually liked that i wanted full length.

Message me your email and I will send you a photo of me in the Pronovias dress :)  ahhh love!  I would post it but I am using Jason's PC and he is a computer guy so I can just see him somehow stumbling over my deleted photos lol.

    PS- Happy Friday!

    @KandJ_15:

Yay, you saw her lol! Yeah it is heavy, but I kinda love that about it, I have this whole thing about the weight of something, im the same with glass wear, weird but true! That sux you couldn't try her on.

Yeah, im also having a 3 hoop as well :) Not having the matching veil, my mum wasn't a fan of the whole un-finished edge thing, and I didn't like that it was only a single tier veil. (Im having a 3 tier, thats about the same length as the train on the dress and the longest tier is detachable). Im having a hair piece that is basically 2 beaded flowers and leaves in ivory… Its zoo pretty :)

Haha yep gotta keep mum happy, otherwise the whole process becomes sooo much more stressful lol.

Haha, gotta love tech savvy men, ruining our online sharing hahaha… I will msg you.

@Cori14:Thank you! It is diamond white and in reality it is very close to white (no yellow as in the pictures).

@Kandj_15: I orderded it without seeing it. And when it arrived I liked it a lot.
