I posted this on my blog today.

Hey everyone! I hope live and wedding planning (if applicable) is going well for you! Life has been uber busy for me lately, so I apologize for being a little MIA lately but I'm here armed with a new laptop to fill you in on what has been going on in the land of our wedding planning!

Today's post is about our INVITES!!

Okay sooo if you don't know, I'm a graphic designer. And what does that equal when added to a graphic designer's wedding stationary? ULTRA PRESSURE OF DOOM OMG!!! High expectations from others? Maybe. High expectations from myself? OMG YES. I just can't settle with ANYTHING. Nothing is exactly what I want... it's like when your options are limitless... when you can make it look like whatever you want and it's free... my head explodes. I have a kajillion ideas. I just have to make it work within our theme and somehow make myself happy.

So what did I come up with you ask? What is it that cured my crazy tendency to freak out over something that I could have easily bought a print at home $30 kit for and been done with???

HAH! You didn't think it'd be THAT easy did you?! :D

Here's a teaser to hold you over until I get these babies printed up, and assembled.

AAAH! Paper problemo! The teal cardstock I picked was a discontinued color, so I was buying out the last of the stock of a paper supplier I use at work (graphic designer) and when the truck got here with our shipment my beautiful teal wasn't on it! Apparently they accidentally threw it away thinking no one would buy it because there was so little left and they normally only do bulk orders! *cries*

Sooo, I ordered the cardstock from an online company that I used for our envelopes Monday night and paid for 3 day shipping (not cheap!) so that I could have it before Friday and get these puppies knocked out this weekend.... just to get a call from them Yesterday morning and tell me they had no more in their warehouse and would have to get some from another one and they wouldn't be able to ship it until today... when I explained to the girl I had paid to have it in 3 days, she didn't understand me and told me if I wanted it by Friday I would have to pay for the 2 day shipping which is another FORTY DOLLARS! How screwed up is that? What doesn't she understand about me paying for something already and it is their fault that there was a problem, there should have been a notice on the site if there was a delay... and since I PAID for 3 days, I should have it in 3 days... now I wont have it until MONDAY, and I'm getting NO compensation... sorry to rant but this makes me super sad. I have to have these out by the end of the month and I need time to put them together... I wanted to do them last weekend and couldn't because of the paper delay and now I still can't do them and my BM that was going to help me put them together leaves monday for boston!

I suppose this was just going too easy and the invitation gods wouldn't stand for it. :( I'm okay... just a little sad!

And haven't we ALL had problems and bugs that happened while DIY-ing our invites...if you haven't had any problems, then you are the luckiest bride that I know!  My printer just about killed the whole project...I had to beat it repeatedly!  Laughing

The fonts I used are Neutra Display (Thin) and Bickham Script Pro (I used glyphs for some of the letters.) Bickham Script has lots of pretty glyphs.

I find it is easiest to work with glyphs in Illustrator, but you could also use In Design.
