My grandma is hosting a shower at 2941, and that is going to cost her a lot, so I want to take care of the tablesettings at least!!

They don't take care of flowers and don't provide vases- I found a place where I can order low glass vases, and I want to make the arrangements myself.

Then I'll give them to my MOH and other friend to take them to the restaurant a half hour before we all get there so they can set up.

I'll get in season flowers, and I need 8 arrangements. Should I go to Pink Posey in Annandale? Or Whole Foods for their flowers?

Any other places you can think of? Thanks!

Although I haven't tried either, I would think that Whole Foods flowers may still be a bit cheaper than going to a florist. I would try Whole Foods flowers first. I've been hearing that their prices are very very reasonable, and this is not for your actual wedding day so it will cost less! Let me know what you find out!

Thanks for the tip! I am thinking of ordering the calla lily-rose package from Costco and then going to Whole Foods to get some flowers to add perhaps to each arrangement.

Have you had this already?  You can always get good roses at Safeway, $10/dozen, and if you mix them with alstromeria, you can get 8 centerpieces together for less than $60.

You can buy flowers in bulk from Costco and have them delivered to you.

I'd suggest the costco route, or harris teeter.  They always have great bunches of blooms with 4-6 per bunch for $4.00 so they are pretty reasonable, but it depends on the feel you're going for- costco is always a very affordable option so that might make the most sense.

Whatever you do, don't use Karin's Florist in Vienna, VA. I had my wedding at 2941 and Karin's is a recommended vendor. They messed up my flowers-- wrong color.

@mmsva: Thanks for the warning! My girlfriends and i are going to do our flowers ourselves.

How was the service/food at 2941?

Service and food was amazing! If possible try to get the Grilled Cheese hors'd that they have. They were so yummy. I have many ruined Wedding Party photos because the tray kept passing right behind my pro photographer and their eyes were following the tray and not looking at the photographer. :-)

    I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!
