My daughter had hers done at the Art Museum. That's probably also pretty popular! lol
We did ours on a Saturday afternoon at the Kimmel Center on Broad street. The building is a public space so you can roam around and take pics all day. They have some really great backdrops and added plus not a lot of people especially on the second and third level. We also did some shots on the surrounding streets so we got the City Hall backdrop shot plus some great shots in front of lovely brownstone row homes.
Try doing down at the Shipyard. Tons of old buildings and ships.
I was thinking that maybe we'd do ours at Philadelphia's Magic Garden. We considered actually having the wedding there; it's gorgeous!

Oh! definitely take them at the Magic Garden! Then if there's time maybe you can wander over to old city for a different setting
We did ours at the Riverbend Ecological Education Center with Mrs. Candy Corn. They were gorgeous!
Mrs. Candy Corn did ours @ Penn (I'm an alum) and 30th Street Station.
What a great post! I am an out of town bride and we will be doing our pics this summer! I would have no idea about any of these places, @danadelphi please let us know how your session goes!
Flamingred - Reading Terminal sounds perfect! So many awesome sights there, great idea!
Oh! I like the Reading Terminal idea. I also want to shoot at 30th street station, as well as some places around Old City for a fun, urban feel! I see many couples use graffiti as their background!
Another idea I saw was the mini-golf course at Franklin Square :)
Ours was shot in Olde City. There are incredible shots to be had! Here are a few from our shoot last April
The Fitler Square area is a favorite place of mine when I am doing shoots. If you're not familiar, it is the area around 22nd and Pine streets.

In Moorestown, NJ -- just over the bridge -- there's a True Value hardware store near some old railroad tracks. The hardware store -- where the mister and I have been spending TONS of time since closing on our home 7/19 -- is in a converted building, and the whole place just has this awesome, intangible feel to it. If I'd known it existed when we were doing e-pics, I *so* would have done part of our session there. Just sayin'
Eastern State Penitentiary is awesome too! I found some examples off of google.

I still haven't convinced the boy 100% to do an engagement shoot, but he's coming around. I think he'll eventually come on board.
But I'm having trouble coming up with a good, unique location for them. Love Park is nice but I feel like EVERYONE does theirs there. And while I'd like to have our photos somewhere in the city, we're both really self-conscious and aren't crazy about getting our photos taken in the middle of a ton of staring people.
Does anyone have any ideas of a good location that is quintessentially Philly but not too crowded or overdone?
