I am having my ceremony, reception, cocktail hour and photos all done at that Chapel where I am getting married. The problem is that the photos will be taken in the backyard of the Chapel (it’s a beautiful spot), and where you see the fountain, that’s where Cocktail Hour will be. Do you think it unclassy for the guests to be able to see us taking pictures? I mean, I don’t really care so much, but was just curious how you think the guests will feel?

They will probably enjoy watching you two get photographed. I, personally, would probably have felt slightly uncomfortable, and was lucky because it was so humid on my wedding day that everyone stayed inside. My cocktail hour was both inside and outside. Beautiful grounds by the way!

As long as they aren’t in the way of the photographer, you should be fine. 🙂

I wouldn’t mind! My only concern would be guests bumping up against the photog trying to take pictures, too!

Thanks everyone! The pictures will actually be taken out by the tree, and beyond that closer to the water. Plus, Im going to be closing the little gates between the fountain and the yard, so hopefully no one will sneak out! Good point though to make sure no one bumps into the photographer, I need to make sure everyone stays corralled!!!

At my aunt’s wedding, the cocktail hour and the photography session were in the same general area, and it actually worked really well. She had a lot of different groups of people she wanted more formal pictures with, and having them all in the same area meant that everyone could enjoy the cocktails and appetizers, but still be within earshot of the photographer for their turn in front of the camera!
