Whenever I look at the ring threads it seems like everyone’s rings are closer to their knuckle than their palm/hand/whatever.
Why is this? When I put a ring on my ring finger, it’s is at least 1/2 inch (approaching 3/4 inch) away from the knuckle (how do I define knuckle? lol the one you have to get the ring past to get to its final destination? lol)
Is there perhaps more skin between the middle finger and ring finger that goes higher up? It just looks super uncomfortable with it perched up that high.
What do you guys think?

I wear mine at the base of my finger, as far away from the knuckle as possible. The rings I notice on here that are worn closer to the knuckle seem to look too tight to me. If that’s what’s comfortable for them, then more power to them haha.

Is this what you mean? I wear mine a bit higher right now. My wedding band is too big so it spins like crazy when it’s at the base of my finger. Once I get it resized they will probably sit closer to the base of my finger. My e-ring is a bit tight at this position but it’s more comfortable tight than my band is loose.
ETA: I usually have it pushed up a little higher actually. I really hate it when my band spins 🙂

Might depend a lot on what your fingers are like, too. I think a lot of the photos where the rings sit higher up are ladies with thin fingers, so the only thing stopping the rings is the knuckle, so maybe the rings just move upwards? My fingers are a bit pudgy and so the thinnest area is right at the bottom of my finger, and then it balloons out a bit, so the rings kind of HAVE to sit at the bottom of my finger. You can kind of see it in this photo.

I’m similar to the previous poster. It is the pudge muscle of my finger that keeps the ring down at the base of my finger and rings feel best when down there. When I was ring shopping one salesperson said that I had small knuckles and that most people have larger knuckles and that is what keeps their rings from falling off.

i wonder..How does it stay up there?

@tallierand: yeah but really I’ve seen it on skinny and chubby fingers alike!
A lot of them seem to hav ring muffin top a but too so it’s not that they’re sliding around so much.

@RenoSweeney24: Man, I don’t know how they can stand it! I hate having anything constricting my pudge! Hopefully having both my ering and wedding band on at once doesn’t bother me too much. It does go up a bit higher on my finger than I’d like (since together they are around 5mm).
