Location on save-the-dates — general city or specific suburb/neighborhood?

I didn’t put a location at all, mostly to force people to go to the website! I did put a little outline of New Hampshire with a heart at the location of our wedding on the back though. I won’t be sending them out until August/September so I have no idea how it will go over.

I think you’re fine with either. Go with the one that fits/looks better.

I put the less well-known, exact town even though it’s literally right on the border of Washington, DC. A lot of people know it, so I didn’t worry about too much confusion.

  Specific locale goes on invite only.  I am getting married 15 minutes away from my home city but I went ahead and put Chattanooga, TN on the STD’s.  If I had put Flintstone, GA, alot of our out of town guests would be very confused.

I put the suburb, because it is technically there and not in Kansas City.  Kansas City is actually a specific part of the city.  Since it is not there I used the correct suburb for my STDs.  However, I’m sure it really doesn’t matter that much.

I would put the location of the ceremony or reception. How close are these towns to Cleveland? Out of town guests may start looking into hotels in Cleveland if that’s what you include on the save the date.

I would put whatever city you expect people from out of town to get a hotel in. If the suburbs are close thwn no big deal,  but if it is going to make a serious drive for.someone who just looks at the card and gets a hotel in that city,  I would be more specific.

I put the name of our venue and it’s city on ours (but it’s a major metro suburb). I figured if people really cared, they could google it.  Just wanted to give them enough information in case they wanted to shop for lodging ahead of time.

I think Cleveland would be enough to give your guests an idea of where it will be.  Then include the exact locations on your inivitations or reception inserts.

We put the city and venue, but that’s because we had the space and we booked it before the save the dates went out. Hopefully people will go to the website.

I would put the city the guests will fly into and get a hotel in.  The purpose of the save the date, to me, were so out of town guests can get flights before the invitations go out.  IF you put the suburb they will end up calling you for flight info.
