My cousin wants to get married in July and is (not surprisingly) having a hard time finding a location in the Bay Area that he and his fiancee like, and that is not already booked. They will invite 100 people max, and would love to have ceremony/reception at the same place. Any hidden gems you’ve come across that might not already be booked? I’ve suggested the Piedmont Community Hall, Berkeley Botanical Gardens (where I got married), Gaia Arts Center, Berkeley City Center, and some places in Olema. Any other suggestions would be welcome!

Is the wedding on a Saturday? Would your cousin be willing to do something on a Friday or Sunday? If so, finding a place might be easier.

Hi – I’d recommend the place we booked: Campbell Hall & Garden. Very affordable at $1,700 and we can bring our own caterer. The kitchen’s great, there’s a lounge downstairs that’s very comfy and modern for the wedding party, and the church is across the street. The only drawback may be that it’s acoustic only. Oh, chairs and tables are part of the rental!

On such short notice, perhaps a nice upscale restaurant that can hold that many would be a good choice.. I’d definitely recommend thinking out of the box towards places that might not be obvious as a wedding venue!
