We were originally considering them but then decided we didn't want to hire a caterer and wanted a place where everything was included.
Alchemiss, I've been to Locust Grove and did some hiking on the trails around the house. It was a very pretty setting, historical and very Hudson Valley. I didn't actually attend a wedding there so I wasn't thinking about it as a wedding location.
Peonypink, where did you end up choosing?
Locust Grove was one of our top 3! ultimately it turned out to be too small, but its very pretty, great gardens!
I attended a wedding in October of 2008 there. It was about 250 people and the location was spacious enough for everyone! Great atmosphere and I liked the fact that before the wedding guests could mill through the gallery or garden. The wedding was held in the back in the garden area and then guests went into the courtyard area for the reception, it was almost like having two separate locations which was nice.
This was definitely not one of those banquet hall kind of places if you know what I mean!
