We met with our priest this weekend to talk through the liturgy and logistics. We’ve done several pre-marital sessions with him so far, but this was the first time we actually talked about the ceremony itself.
I was happy to hear him say that he wanted to ensure that the ceremony included us both – that whatever we do, we’re both treated as partners. Makes sense to me!
But I didn’t realize that meant – that we both should be walking in during the processional, although not necessarily together. Theoretically, he could walk first, then attendants, then me.
We had specifically rejected the idea of a first look because we wanted to wait until that walk down the aisle, so that we could have that moment where we’re seeing each other for the first time in the church.
For anyone who has done this kind of processional, were you able to still have that walk down the aisle where it’s just you walking toward the groom? Were you able to do this and still not see each other until your walk?
