@Meant2Bee:  Hai.

Been engaged since August 2012, so it’s been a minute.

I actually love it. My wedding is 100 something days away (what??) and I am almost starting to feel nervous. All major things are done, and still left are transportation, attire details (shoes, jewelry, FH’s tux) favors, and invitations.

We’ll be engaged 21 months, and I don’t think thats it’s too long at all! I was happy to have a long engagement, because then I got first choice with the venues, photographers, etc. since I booked so early they were all still available

By the time we get married in February, it will have been almost 26 months. I’m soooo glad! My wedding idea has done a total 180 since we got engaged, and our wedding would have been an ugly disaster if I’d gone with my original ideas. I’m glad I had all this time to really hone in on the perfect wedding for us.

@Meant2Bee:  I am in 100% the same situation.  I’ll be 18 months when we have our wedding too.  I’m dying.  Zzzzz……….

We will be engaged for 24 months to the day.  I have a definate busy season at work and basically NO planning is getting done for those 4 months out of the year, so I think a longer engagement works perfectly for us.

I’ve been engaged for almost 1 year.  Sometimes, I do wish things would speed up so we can get this show on the road.  But, overall I think a nearly 2-year engagement is a good pace for me.  I’m getting a lot done but not putting myself under a ton of additional stress.  FI and I are also in the middle of renovating our backyard, so we have a lot to keep us busy other than wedding planning.

@Mimoza:  We got engaged in 2009, set a date in 2012 for 2014. The wait is killing me!!!!! It was the right thing for us (we wanted to buy our own house first) but still…

We’ve only been engaged for 4 months, but at the date of our wedding it will be 21 months. We just went to a wedding this past weekend and I was a little jealous that they were only engaged for a year. I wish we could get married sooner, but it just isn’t practical. I’m still in grad school (graduating in May!) so I don’t really have the time to plan a wedding right now. I also don’t want to start a new job next year and then have to take off time right away for the wedding. I figured it just makes sense to wait until 2015, and I picked April so it’s close to our current anniversary.

Fortunately, being in school is keeping me very busy. There is absolutely no way I could plan a wedding right now. When I graduate in May, it will be 11 months until the wedding, which I think is a perfect amount of time to plan all the details (we already have our venue booked), and it will fly right by!

@Meant2Bee:  Oh, it will!

I might be in a different situation because we purchased a house earlier this year, so we have a lot of things to take care of. I already feel settled with him, and a simple hall paper signing/whatever happens would be enough for me at this point. This wedding has become more and more of a nuisance than anything else. I’m ready to just scrap it, if I wouldn’t lose all my deposits lol.

@linnylou_88:  Haha I hear ya. Time flies though, honestly. Hang in there!
