Not a LI bride, but we attended a friend’s wedding held at the Swan Club and it was gorgeous and a really fun mix of indoor/outdoor.

kayyy727:  Hi! Not sure if you are in Nassau or Suffolk County. I am in Suffolk County. We checked out a bunch of places. Our favorite by far was http://www.chateaulamercatering.com/ but it just wasn’t in our budget. We know of people who got married at http://www.watermillcaterers.com/ – another nice place but we were looking for a venue that offered some sort of package deal. So we ended up at http://www.medmanor.com/index.php – from the front it leaves a little to be desired but inside is nice and their garden space is beautiful. Our ceremony is at St. Patricks in Bay Shore, so we will only be using their garden space to take pictures.

We had an option of 2 different djs, two different florists and 2 different limo companys. They have 1 photographer that they use. We are going with him as we did like his pictures and video. (they are all part of our package – adding more to each vendor, means more money to spend. We added more to all except the limo as we are using a trolley (http://northforktrolley.com/).

Our DJ – http://www.perfectpartiesonline.com/ (Chris is awesome. They do have a photobooth which they just added. We added that onto our package. I wanted the open one but they have the traditional looking one that my FI happens to love. But who knows if they might end up with an open one in the next year or so.

Our Florist – http://www.talltreeflorist.com/ (Karen is awesome as well. I had my bouquet all picked out and asked to change it yesterday and she said no problem.

Make up and hair – http://www.glammeupdowntheaisle.com/ (her prices are good and she comes to you on the day off).

Hi everyone! I’m newly engaged (a few weeks) and haven’t picked a venue yet. I live in Coram but will be moving to Wading River. We were thinking about east wind, georgios or lombardis on the sound but I’m a little worried about the budget. Anyone have any experience with any of these venues?

hi! I am a LI bride and have pretty much everything planned so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

we are getting married at the watermill. I looked at a few locations including Atlantis aquarium in river head, chateau conidre (spelling may not be correct), windows on the lake in ronkonkoma and Carlyle on the green in Melville. I fell in love with the watermill the moment I stepped up the stairs. windows on the lake was a backup, very pretty reception area. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that we needed the ceremony to be on location as well and at WOTL and the other locations we looked at, the hall utilized the reception room as your ceremony room and during cocktail hour the staff would scramble everything into place for later. I didn’t like that concept and the watermill was the only place we saw that had its own separate ceremony room with chapel and everything.

The pricing is also phenomenal, which a big part of that being because our wedding is a winter wedding so we were able to book at a much more reasonable pricing. The only downside is they don’t offer an official package price for vendors like most of the other places did, but they have a recommended vendor list that gives you all the businesses they work with. Which is great because it allows you to pick and choose and has the potential of saving a lot of money.

The florist we are using is jack and rose florist based in Woodbury in Nassau county. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM!!!! the only reason we went with them is because I am not crazy picky and we were on a major budget. Their prices will definitely blow any other florist out of the water, but their customer service is pure SHIT. HORRIBLE. but I’ve only had to deal with them on the general basis so for me personally I’ve been able to handle it.

For photography we went with Jeffrey studios based in smithtown. the main photographer reminds me a lot of my uncle so I really connected with him.

For DJ we went with In the mood based in smithtown. The main MC was awesome and sold me immediately on our first meeting. He had a great personality and actually got me really excited about all the music and everything.

For makeup I am using a girl who does it part time, she was pretty awesome and her prices seem reasonable as far as I know.

I am still half and half on hair stylist. But the person I am considering is just a side business kind of thing who does my moms hair regularly.

I can’t remember who we chose for a limo, elegant limos? Somethig like that. But again it was good pricing and the main driver had a really great personality.

Most of these vendors were also recommended people from the watermill, so I know it will all be smooth sailing the day of because they’ve done many weddings at the watermill

this is all I can think of right now. If you want more specifics I’m more than happy to help!

HELLO BRIDES TO BE!! I am a long island bride lol I am getting married at east wind on May 30, 2015! they have great package deals that come with photographer and dj too!, they are the best place for the price. we did look at med manor because you could get everything down to an ice sculpture for like $12,000 for 100 people, but like the above pp said it is not very appeasing and its def not the best quality place, but if you want to get the most for your money then med manor is the place. i chose east wing because the beautiful gounds, and the price was good for the all inclusive packages and they have like 4 different spots to choose from because east wind is that huge!! any advice just as me!!! im planning my whole wedding by myself!!!

KatEmmaMarie:  We’re getting married at Crest Hollow and have booked Jack and Rose (so far so good; they were pushy at the first meeting but we couldn’t resist the pricing and just like you – I’m not picky about the flowers) as well as Jeffrey Studio for photo & video (we connected with the owner Alan a lot too). The only non preferred vendor we have booked is the DJ company – we decided to go with Tommy’s Tunes because of their great reputation.

  • Wedding: May 2015 - sandcastle

Hello fellow bride to be, My fiance and I are getting married at the sandcastle in franklin square on May 1, 2015. It is such a beatiful venu with a lot of food lol. The only thing is you would have to have to guarantee 175 people for a friday wedding, and 200 people for a saturday wedding. For photographer and videoographer we are using Deja Vu Studios in Mineola . For our florist we are using beautiful beginnings in bethpage. For DJ we are using Genesis Events in Floral Park. I hope this somewhat helps you. Please keep us posted on your status. Happy wedding planning 🙂
