Here is what I did - it was a long and wide cashmere wrap. Worked great in January

I'm getting married in MN in January and have gone back-and-forth on how to keep warm in a strapless gown. I have odered elbow-length gloves and a faux-fur wrap, kind of like this one:

I thought that would be enough, but just the other day, I took a peek at the Farmer's Almanac and it says our wedding day will be 'bitterly cold.'
I found a pretty white coat (only for outdoors) on sale at Macy's online and ordered it... so now I have options! I'm also going to keep my white knitted mittens around... I don't want frostbite from outdoor photo sessions.
I'm still considering adding ANOTHER covering (bolero or such) for the ceremony.
If I scrounge up some more inspiration images I'll come back and post!

I showed these pictures to the dressmaker who's doing my dress alterations. I'm having her custom make one because the one from the website is too thin a fabric, and I'm really, really short. Mine is going to be lined with fleece.

Here is my dress, so the next question is faux fur or satin?
Thanks!!!
I saw a drop-dead gorgous coat in a wedding magazsine last year, but I can't find a picture of it anywhere! It was a white wool coat, floor-length, very stunning!
I'm totally hunting for a long coat. It's hard so I may just get one made. However, since your ceremony is outside it's a tough call, whether or nto to cover the dress. I vote for warmth over style, plus it seems kinda fun to have a big dress reveal at the reception. Kind of like keppign everyone in suspense.
I am wearing a short vintage light brown mink coat. it was my grandmother's.
Kind of like this:
I love that jacket - looks so expensive and gorgeous! Newest find and obsession for my winter wedding!

Hi Bees,
I am getting married outside in January in colorado. I am debating between long sleeve and short sleeve bolero jackets or faux fur wraps. Does any one have pictures of themselves in their jackets? I have a strapless dress. Any thoughts on what might be a better option? I know I will be cold either way I'm just trying to decide if I go for fashion or try and cut some of the cold?
Thanks for your help!!
