I love short dresses, so short! =)
Edit- Just came back to look at this again, while I still like short, I think that a bit longer (tea length) would maybe look better.
i think it's cute both ways, but i like it best full length. it's more bridal. very pretty, i'm sad that you're going to look at more dresses, i wouldn't want to waste that one!
i love it short... but i love short dresses... i think you will look so cute in that short dress
I think that dress would be adorable short! But I do agree that it probably won't look as bridal-y if you were to shorten it.
I agree with artbee. But wouldn't it be cool if you can have it long for the ceremony and detach the bottom and have it short for the reception.
That picture of you is ridiculous!! I LOVE it. I think you should get it shorter, but add the rest of the length with velcro, then when you walk into the reception and they announce you, just rip it off and bust out in dance and song!
@Nlmiele- That would be awesome!
I like it longer, but after the wedding you could shorten it and were it to parties (just no weddings)!
I like it long, it looks more bride like. Best thing tho.. to quote the movie 27 dresses "the best thing, is you can shorten it and wear it again" And I mean that in a positive way for after the wedding! you can rock your wedding dress any time you like :D
I love it short! But I have a thing for short wedding dresses. Maybe go with what some others are syaing- shorten it but add the bottom on with buttons/ snaps/ velcro/ whatever, then you can have the best of both worlds. I do really love your dress either way.
I'm kind of loving the velcro idea, you guys! I think I might just do that!!
Wow the velcro thing the other bees suggested is awesomeness, not sure how that would work out but it would be amazing :o)
Tisk tisk danadelphia...I thought we told you to stop looking at dresses now that you bought this one?! (Haha just teasing...)
I think the short dress trend is super cute, but in this case, I personally really love your dress long, and itt still has a light, garden-y feel to it. If you can do the velcro and have the best of both worlds, that'd be great too. (But don't drop all your $$ on alterations if you're going to buy another dress!)
Tea-length baby! (but I'm biased, that's what I'm wearing)
So pretty! And the dress is great too!
I'm all for going short! And just because a dress is short doesn't make it less "bridal" at all! Being "bridal" is being the kind of bride you want to be, not conforming to everyone else's idea of what a bride should be! If you feel like a short dress bride, go for it!
But just think about the decision for a little while...you have plenty of time to change it if you want, but once it's cut, it's cut! Just be sure it's what YOU want!
I think short is good! I'm thinking maybe go slightly longer (like an extra tier or two maybe?) But short is adorable!
its really cute short too, but i like long better for a wedding. I looks more bridal long
I definitely think detachable would rock and should be doable with the skirt style...otherwise, can I add a vote for tea length?
I think the fit is great on you, but the bow isn't very flattering. I think it distracts from the ruffles. Is it removable?
I like it shorter better... but don't be mad for me saying so, but I'm not sure that's THE dress for you. It's over a year out and I suspect you'll be buying another one. So my vote would be to keep it long, in case you change your mind later. If not, it shouldn't take too long with alterations.
i like it longer only because of all the lace and ruffle detail. it looks really pretty.

oops...sorry don't know why my previous response went twice :(
I still can't get over your dress being under 200 bucks! awesome deal....and it reminds me of a jcrew style that I saw on-line that was waaaay more than that!
Are you doing the black sash for sure? I think a champagne would be really pretty, also a thicker band would look nice with this dress. Just a thought. Love the dress though!
What are the odds a seamstress could make the extra length removable under on of the tiers? I've never been good at cut & dry decisions and love leaving my options open. You could start long and as the party got kickin', make it shorter!

To refresh your memory, I bought an ivory prom dress from David's Bridal a few weeks ago for under $200.
I'm still not 100% sure that I'm going to wear it (as a matter of fact, I have an appointment at J. Crew tomorrow to try on dresses) but I still dig it and try it on about once or twice a week for the hell of it.
Today, I tried it on and decided to see what it would look like if it was knee-length. And it was really cute! Since our wedding is going to be outdoorsy and rustic, in an old botanical garden, I am okay with wearing a shorter dress, but I'm not sure if the dress looks better long or shortened.
I couldn't take a photo of it because I needed both hands to hike up my dress, so I did some really crappy Photoshop to show you what it looks like shortened.
(I told you it was crappy! And those legs are WAY nicer than my own but whatevs.)
Anyway, I was just wondering what you thought. Do you prefer my dress full-length or knee-length?
