So I am thinking long satin bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. Has anyone seen or have pictures of the bride with ladies in long satin dresses?
Also, if you have worn a long satin dress in a wedding….was it comfortable?
Currently looking at the following, but it so hard to tell if I’ll like theses dresses on people besides the model wearing the dress:
Thanks in advance for any input!

I haven’t personally worn one.. But my mum word a floor length satin dress as MOH in my aunty’s wedding.. They showed every lump and bump so if your girls aren’t stick thin they probably wouldn’t be comfortable in it.. The girls from this wedding all had to wear spandex underwear and were taking it off during the reception cause they were all so uncomfortable.

@shwed: I am thinking about satin for bridesmaids too – and long as well. I think the issue is if you have any bridesmaids who may not feel comofrtable or that their bodies are flattered by satin. I have been having that debate myself. Maybe take your girls out and have them try some on. It may be that you will end up liking chiffon better. It definitely depends on body type. Also, keep in mind that for some girls sweat stains on satin may be an issue.

I agree that a matte fabric (crepe, chiffon or jersey for examples) would be more comfortable and probably look better as well.
Super fit and skinny girls tend to look the best in satin. I let my girls pick their own long chiffon dresses within a brand (Allure) and they look very elegant.

My BMs are all differnt shapes and heights and i had them try on a lot of differnt styles at DB. I found if the satin dress is fully lined and has a good weight to it, it looks fine on most body types. the sheath style dresses are the ones that show all the lumps and bumps.

I dont see a problem with long satin dresses. Infast I have worn it for a wedding. My issue with the dresses you presented are basically what Mrs MaQilltobe said… I dont think those ones would be flattering on a body that is not stick thin. I think the way it is draped would not be forgiving on many.

My bridesmaids are wearing a long satin gown. All 5 have VERY different body types… I have a short girl with lots of curves, tall, size 0, large chest, and ‘average.’ All 5 tried on the dress and said it was ver comfortable and it looked flattering on all of them. Here is a picture of the dress:
