You can use a runner or something in lieu of a runner to unify the decor.
burlap
barnboard
doilies
Kraft paper runner and paper flowers
After you add some candles, salt and pepper etc it will look more full.
Here's an old post that has some great pics:

I'm using 10 foot tables. I have 3 floral centerpieces, 15 inches high by 15 inches wide. In between, I am putting tall taper candles in a coordinating color. Inderneath, I am using table runners. For tables that long you could by one of those 12" x 10 yard rolls of taffeta, satin or tulle. Linentablecloth.com has crinkle taffeta rolls, 12" x 30 ft in 46 different colors for $32.99 ea. The satin is 12" x 10 yards and is $7.99 a roll and comes in 20 colors. At efavormart.com the 9" x 100 yd tulle is $11.95 a roll. The 12" x 10 yard taffeta bolts are $8.99. You could put the tapers on top of small mirrors along the length to unify the table. You could also run a 35ft strand of twinkle lights from one end to the other.
I went with smaller centerpieces because I want people to be able to con .verse over them. Each item is about 2" from the other to basically signify each person's "table space".
Thank you much!!! I love the moss runner!!
I think a worry for me is.... will the tissue paper flowers catch on fire if i have candles??? :/
You don'y have to light the candles. Many places won't let you. If you have more money to spend, you could always go with electric candles. The come in pillars and tapers too.
If your venue allows candles, all you have to do is make sure they are in a container that is higher than the flame.
Also I am moving the wedding INSIDE - anyone have any good tips on how to make an inside wedding look like the outside?? :)
Lots and lots of potted plants, shrubs or flowers. Or Ferns? stuff you can buy at the garden center and then plant later.

So Bees, I have been planning the wedding with round tables in mind. And recently I have decided to go with long tables - probably about 30 people at each. SO - for the round tables I was making tissue paper flowers (all kinds) and putting them in blue mason jars with pebbles in them. and that was going to be my centerpiece. Now I feel as if it will look too empty. What else should I add to these long tables?? :)
