I found this:

But the look will depend on your dress and your veil –how they look together.

I think it could be fabulous, or strange looking.  You won’t know until you try.  However, you could bustle the long veil to keep it in proportion with your dress if the length doesn’t look right.  A bustled veil is very beautiful and you will not have to cut it.

@melizabe:  Here are two pictures I found of it…

I think if you found the right dress I think I would look really pretty together. Maybe something like this with this.

With this veil

I adore the idea of a cathedral length veil with a the tea length dress! I reminds me of the past a bit like maybe the 40s-50s

@melizabe:  Only the first dress pic cam through, but that dress is gorgeous!  Love the veil too!  Can you take the veil with you to try on dresses?

That veil is SUPER formal. May I ask why you are leaning toward a tea-length dress? I understand that the veil is the keepsake item you are trying to match a dress to, but I don’t see those two going together. Maybe a sheath in a beautiful lace or silk charmeuse? It wouldn’t be overly formal, but formal enough to make sense with that gorgeous veil.
