We’re getting married under a large tree that is approximately 250 feet from where the reception building is held. It’s in a public park so you can’t like stick stuff in the ground and there is an asphalt walkway so it’s not walking through a field of grass but I’m stuck on how to decorate the path to make it more enjoyable (and less of a trek). Does anyone have any ideas of what to display/do?
I’ve gone to one wedding in my entire life and they also had a far way to walk from where all the cars were parked and they had the guest book a little way off but I cant remember what else!
All ideas are most definitely welcome 🙂

@fron330: I am having a similar predicament…getting married in a public park, likely no music, but at least thought there should be something to ‘lead the way’ to the actual site. I have a little one being ‘flower girl’ and I wondered if it might be time to actually use her? Maybe she can meander ahead and toss some petals down? But they’d either blow all over or need to be picked up I’m sure. Hopefully others have some ideas.

You could hang vases of flowers, paper lanterns, pomanders etc from shepherd hooks inserted into the grass on either side of the pathway.
You could line the pathway with family pictures, hanging from shepherd hooks or placed on log stumps.
If you have a sense of humour you could do signs like the old burma shave road signs.
Driveway signs: Need a silly wedding poem or limerick 🙂

@julies1949: unfortunately we are not allowed to stick things in the ground! it would ease things immensely 🙁

Are you having programs? giving your guests water bottles? having a guestbook?
You could have little stations spaced equal distances apart along the path.
Alternatively, you could find out if you can rent potted flowering trees from a nursery in your area.

Are you allowed to decorate the path itself? You could get some children that you know or an artist to do chalk drawings relating to your theme or weddings on the path.
