my mom grew giant ones one year. she made so many zucchini things that summer, it was crazy.

it was also the year my brother got poison ivy three times by picking it, and rubbing it on other people, then forgetting and rubbing his face. there’s a picture, similar to your third one, of him with his eyes swollen shut, holding a zucchini. mom had no sympathy for him. so she took photos.

Once the hard cider gods gifted me a 6-pack of woodchuck on my front porch. I’d much rather have a visit from the zucchini gods.

My dad has grown ones as big as my leg before. My grandmother actually owned a cookbook that had about 50 ways to cook zucchini, because once they start coming in you just get inudated with the things. I can totally see leaving them on random doorsteps as a way to get rid of the extras 😛

I was literally crying while laughing just at the thread title. Man that’s so awesome. Meanwhile, your zucchini is a few days late, but you have become part of the annual Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day (August 8)! Perhaps your gifter waited until that amazing specimen was just right before dropping it off. Lots of zucchini bread coming your way, yummy.
