Last night I was decorating the upstairs balcony and I sent DH and my daughter down to check how it looked. I peeked over and they were playing with a black kitty. We have 2 black kitties so called down to put him back in the house. They called up “ummmm not ours” – so I went down to check it out. Beautiful black persian so we went to all the houses in the streets near ours asking – no one had ever seen him. We have put ads up about finding a “black cat” with no other details to make sure if anyone contacts us that they would have to describe him. We took him to the vet today and he is microchipped but not registered and we have to wait until Monday to try and see if we can find out who his owner is but if we cannot find the owner we will adopt him.
Right now we are not calling him a name because he may not be ours to keep but if he does become our baby we will name him Rumplestiltskin (and I will call him Grumples) but I had to share his picture – so stinkin adorable . . .

Very cute! And great of you to take him in and take care of him. If his parents do claim him they will be very grateful! My baby got lost once for 2 days and someone had taken him in, I was sooo happy and grateful I can’t even tell you.

@sn2bmrsmntgmry: We will hate to give him up but I hate to think that they are worried about him. I know it has made me think that even though I have never had an animal get out having all of my babies chipped.
IF YOU DO HAVE A MICROCHIPPED PET – REGISTER YOURSELF AS THE OWNER 🙂

Oh my. I have a Himalayan and grew up with a Persian . . . they are such special little creatures. Now I’m even more sad you didn’t get to keep him.
