@CupcakeQueen21:  your best bet is to find a family member/freind.  A stranger risks too much financial liability in case something were to happen on their property.  Unfortunately not many strangers would take $500 to clean out, prepare a barn and host a reception on their property for just a one time event. :/

Plus, your post was a bit vague. You didn’t specify where you wanted a barn.

Not sure how you could do that unless you knew someone with a barn? Which area of the cities are you looking for? Minnetonka area has some decent rustic styled venues. Minnetonka Apple Orchard, Gale Woods Farms, etc. Check out 3 Rivers Park district (they have more than just Gale Woods). Also. Aboretum has some cool options.

Still, its going I be difficult keeping that venue rental down to just $500. I’d start by asking your friends and family. Also,  The Knot has a great directory.

It’s not a barn, but you could contact Skyridge http://www.baileyprop.com/#!skyridge/c36f

they have a park preserve and very seldom allow weddings. You can have a tent, etc. I’m not sure if they are cheap, I don’t think they are but it’s an idea.
