Helping my friend find a Dj in the bay area that is $500 or less. We are also trying to find good caterers/ bartenders with the bar that aren't through the roof! Any leads bees??

    I'm looking for the same thing! I can't find a DJ under $900 :(

I recommend Sally Tomatoes as an affordable caterer/bartenders in the Bay Area!

I can't belive nobody knows a DJ that is under at least $500. The DJ we are probably giong to go with is $800! Another is $750. An Ipod is always a possibility but seems like it can go bad very quickly.

I have to say, we were going to have a friend DJ our wedding, he DJs on the side for friends so we figured he'd do fine at just playing the music we want.  Then we realized that a DJ does so much more than just play music.  He/she sets the tone for the  entire event, makes sure things happen on time and can really read the crowd and make sure the party gets and stays going.  We ultimately decided to splurge on a fantastic DJ who my dad has known for many years, and although our wedding is still 10 days away, I am so excited about having him run everything for us!

I had thought about doing an ipod wedding but went with a DJ so that we had someone to transition between things like our slideshow, same-day-edit video, speeches, games, etc.

I, too, looked for someone for less than $500 as I didn't need a DJ to emcee but just to coordinate the music.

My wedding coordinator ended up pulling strings to make it possible. I highly recommend (if you have a wedding planner or DOC coordinator) to ask your coordinators for help.
