i’m not sure of the pricng and packages that you can get but i would check out Dorado Embassy Suites. i was just in P.R planning my wedding and we went to this hotel to check it out for possibly having our guests stay there. i really loved the pool and beach area also the hotel inside was beautiful, it has a casino there so atleast there is some entertainment for your guests. it is approximately 40 minutes from san juan. Ponce is a nice town but like you said it isn’t that close to san juan… It all depends what you want to do on the island. San Jaun is something that you can go visit and walk around in one day unless you want to experience some night life. i can ask my family for the name of a restaurant in san juan, right on the beach, that my sister’s friend was recently married in. she also had a small wedding and from what i hear it was very economical. I’m currently planning my own May 2013 wedding in P.R let me know if you want to share information

Hi There!

As a wedding planner in Puerto Rico (http://www.wedstudios.com)… I would love to give you some advice on getting married in PR (don’t worry its free)… How about you send me an email at [email protected] and we can chat.

I just did a wedding last night at La Concha and the food is amazing, venue is to die for. But it may be a bit out of your budget but we can plan an amazing 10k wedding with a flowy tent on the beach… Amazing outdoor set ups for food stations and a mojito bar!

Lets talk!

Hey there…I’ve never specifically looked at wedding venues in Puerto Rico but I have spent a lot of time there for work.

I don’t know if I can be a lot of help but I’ll tell you what I do know based on your post…Ponce is a really pretty drive but there is nothing close to it and some of the area around there is kind of sketchy. Condado beach is a really nice area with some nice restaurants and hotels. I know there is a nice Marriott right on the beach but no idea what prices would run. The only other hotel of that I can personally vouch for is the El San Juan hotel in La isla verde….Very nice hotel with several nice restaurants, gorgeous rooms, and even a night club. There is also direct beach access, a casino, and a very nice pool. La Isla verde is also very close to the airport.

I don’t know if this info helps any but might give you some areas to start with. Good luck!

Hey there!! I know its been a while since there have been any posts but I wanted to know if you had any luck in your search because I am also getting married in San Juan, PR in June, 2013. I have never been to San Juan but my fiance says it’s beautiful and a lot of fun. We are hopefully having our ceremony and reception at Hotel El Convento on June 20th. I’m just waiting to confirm which areas of the hotel are available for the ceremony and reception. I don’t have any other vendors booked but have been in contact with a few. I know it’s a late start but we just decided on the date a few days ago. If you have a chance I would love to hear about your ideas. Happy planning!! 🙂

@cancre123:  hello congrats on your wedding! Its coming soon! I just came home from El San Juan Resort and Casino and looked into getting married there. I loved it but felt it was a little over priced- i’m frim new york and felt like it would cost less to do it here at home- so not what i want though :). Where are you having yours?
