We were once in love, and now, 30 years later, after a lot of change and growth, we are back together, making plans to spend the time we have left together, never to separate again. If it feels like a fairytale, it is. But it is the best kind: true. And we are both 60 something so we are planning for this to be very low key.
But for the nuptials, they must remain simple, intimate, and not expensive. I know nothing about weddings. My parents have passed on. Is there a ‘weddings for dummies’ I can read to get an idea of what may or may not be expected, what the protocols are, how do I not step on anyone’s toes?
A small inn or private home, somewhere beautiful in CT, with about 30 guests max. A Justice of the Peace, a few flowers (spare the poor things I say), no bridesmaids, no best man, just us, a few friends and family, a sit down reception with light food, drinks, and music. Some deal with a local hotel for overnighters.
Does anyone in CT have micro-wedding experience they’d like to share? Something they’d like to rave about that didn’t break the bank? We haven’t set a budget yet but I’m guessing it’ll be less than 10k and maybe closer to 5k, not including what I spend on a dress, hair and nails.
I was joking about the flowers. When you go to the flower market (they have those in cities at like 6 am) you can get some great deals. I just don’t know of any around here.
I am also new to CT.Thanks in advance for any advice!
