Body type: 5’4, 110lbs, bubble butt, average waist and hips, small boobs (34 A/B) Body type is more athletic type than skinny/ lanky.
Wedding: Private destination elopement on African Kenya safari, traveling with dress (Reception in US later, have a different dress for that)
Hair: Will likely do a sleek ballerina bun or side bun due to limitations because of the remote location
Looking for something: elegant, pretty, fitted. He’s not a big fan of lace dresses and my reception dress a few weeks following is a shorter fitted lace dress. It’s also important to say we will not have access to a professional photographer, we will have a high quality camera and a photographer from the camp, but it is not a designated wedding photographer, so that means a ton of the stylized shots to the back detail, etc.. may not be as likely. We will have pictures from our ceremony on the bush and then also with the animals on a game drive.
1. Nicole Miller Annabel (detail is beading)
2. Nicole Miller Alexis
3. Katie May Poipu (real bride wearing it from the site)

Also I would love to hear comments about what you like and don’t like about the dresses or why you picked the one you did.

I was SO close to getting a Katie May poipu dress! I am so in love with her designs. However, I am very small chested (barely an A) and I decided against because I simply could not fill out the thin, lacy top enough – so maybe something to think about.
I adore both nicole miller gowns – although you may run into the same problem with the first if you are anything like me. I think from what you describe that the second Nicole Miller gown will look stunning on you. SO jealous of your bubble butt! I am simply a surfboard! haha good luck, no matter what you will look gorgeous!

I would choose Katie May’s dresses over any dress, any day of the week & twice on Sunday. I love Katie May’s wedding gowns.

I love the Alexis dress but I would love to see them on you.

- Wedding: July 2015 - City Hall!
I liked the Katie May one, it’s just VERY low in the back. So I picked the Alexis.

Have you tried on sheaths yet? I would try some on before making any decisions.

I chose the Alexis as the Katie May looks a little too lacy for you groom’s tastes. Also I love the little touch of lace it has, and think your butt would look great in it!

gg620: Thanks for responding! I have the same hesitation about the Katie May. It’s so gorgeous but I’m not sure my boobs would fill it out. It seems like you have to have the perfect proportions for that dress and can’t get the help of a bra because not only is it cut extremely low, the front is cut in a way that is showing side boob.

Lbward6: I’m going to try them all on and post pics when I do. I just wanted to get some opinions now. I know putting them on changes everything. I have not tried any sheaths and I’m really hoping they work out for my body type for so many reasons: grooms taste, weather & outdoor ceremony, type of wedding I am having, weight limits for luggage on our safari flights (smaller prop planes) which means I can only have 30lbs for 17 nights in kenya/ seychelles so I don’t want my dress to be 10lbs of that! A sheath just makes the most sense.
Did you try sheaths and how did they work out for you?

Peanut-Sue: They are so pretty! Does anyone on here have one? Please PIP or share your experience with them.

lionessa: I tried on a lot of sheaths, I did not want a big dress and I didn’t like mermaids because I couldn’t walk in them. I am not sure of your budget but I found Sarah Janks to make some amazing sheaths. I’m 5’10 and around 120lbs with an athletic build (I’m a competitive trail runner) And thought this shape worked for me so i think you should be fine. Ultimately I went with this dress http://watters.com/Product/WattersBrides/Features:WattersBridesSpring2014/5086B/ happy dress hunting!

Love the Alexis – I also think the fit would look incredible on your body type as described!

lionessa: I like one, it’s very classic looking out of all of them (classic not traditional). As a fellow bee who has small boobs and a sizable bum (compared to boobs) I think the rouching will highlight the butt and just call a lot of attenion there.
3 is really nice I need a better pic though.

I keep going back and forth between 1 and 2. They’re both so gorgeous!
