My guy and I have finally settled on a venue after about a year of searching. Trouble is it’s in Ridgefield, CT where there are little to no BnBs, inns, private rentals, or hotels close enough to the venue to feel comfortable or large enough to sleep the wedding party and a few extras.
Danbury,CT seems to offer the most options but it is about 10 miles/15-20 mins away, which may be a bit much after an evening of drinking and merriment…We would prefer private rentals, but have not been successful with Air BnB or Home Away…
Anyone know of potential alternatives?

@Maiden: Have you considered hiring a shuttle for the night to help with transportation? My friend was married in Brookfield and the guests were staying at the Ethan Allan in Danbury, so they hired a shuttle to help get everyone to and from the venue.
Here’s a link to the Stonehenge Inn in Ridgefield. It is on the smaller side (only 16 guest rooms I believe), but it seems to have good reviews (on google) and it is something to consider.

i’m pretty sure that danbury is gonna have the most accomodation options. 15 minutes really isn’t a far drive, and it’s pretty much right down the highway (my aunt & uncle live in redding, which is right next to ridgefield, so i know the area well). i don’t think there are many b&b’s in the area, aside from in danbury.
if you’re that concerned about people drinking & driving, hire a shuttle service like LoggerHead91207 suggested.

- Wedding: October 2013 - The Fox Hill Inn
@Maiden: I just got married in that area, and our guests didn’t mind the 15 minute ride from our reception in Brookfield to the hotel in Danbury.
We used the Hilton Garden Inn in Danbury. I highly recommend it, the service was great. Mallory is the Sales Manager we worked with and I couldn’t have been happier with her/the hotel. My BM’s and I got our hair done in Ridgefield so I know for a fact the hotel is about 15 minutes from downtown Ridgefield.
Our friends/family really party so we didn’t want anyone driving. We also used shuttle buses, we got school buses from First Student which were very reasonably priced. And our guests thought it was a novelty ro ride a school bus and our photographer got some cute photos on the bus too.
I recently went to a wedding where the hotel was a 45-50 minute ride from the reception. 15 minutes really isn’t bad at all.

Thanks all for your comments. We are definately considering a shuttle service (economically, of course!)
