I'm looking for a venue on the beach where we can get married on the sand or close by and have the reception there too. I'm on a pretty tight budget but we are only having 40-50 guests. I don't want to pay $4000 for a site fee. I love the Pacific Egde Villa in Laguna Beach but it's so pricey. Anywhere in LA or OC is good. Maybe even San Diego or Ventura if the price is low. Any ideas?

check out La Palapa Del Mar: http://www.lapalaparestaurant.com/

beach ceremony is only $1000 and meals starts at $75/person.

    good luck!

Since you have a small wedding, maybe look into private estates.

Check out the Pacific Edge Laguna

    A private estate in Malibu

I also had a client get married on the public beach in Santa Monica (free) and had guests walk a couple blocks to a bungalow reception at the Fairmont.

    Good luck!

I went to a beautiful wedding a couple years ago at the Del Mar Powerhouse community center- its right on the beach and depending on how many hours you need it for and what season, I think it was more reasonably priced than other beachy venues. Here is the website: http://www.delmar.ca.us/visitors/Pages/FacilityUsePermits.aspx   Good luck!

my friend got married in zuma beach...she got married on a friday afternoon last march. they caught the sunset when ceremony and family pictures were done... but it was very very very windy!!!

that's actually where they filmed the original planet of the apes :) lovely area...

101n... exit kanan road go south... right on pch... its the first beach before the malibu 27 scenic drive.

as far as i know, you can get married on any beach for free as long as total number of people is under 50. beach ceremony is our alterenative just incase our venue doesn't go through.  also, there is an inn and a restaurant before you reach the beach. i think its called malibu inn.

or if you continue to drive towards malibu... leo carrillo state beach is a popular spot.

    good luck with your search!!!

I'm checking out a venue in Venice Beach this week, they only have day options.  I wanted an evening wedding, but may change if it's great.
