Just that fact that you are sending them a written card formally asking them is personal in itself. If you send them a gift, it should be something simple. You don't want to set the bar to high when it comes to buying them their actual gifts..Lol...but I actually love the hoodie idea!
Hey! For my BMs I made a basket with homemade peach vodka (with a vintage looking bottle I found at HomeGoods for $2) with a tag. (My cousin lives on the West Coast so I had to put her's in a 20 oz soda bottle to mail)... I also made a slide show with pictures of us throughout the years and music to go with it) that I put on iMovie which I put on a DVD. In the end it said "Because you know things like..." and put a whole bunch of great memories "I'm asking you to be my bridesmaid." I also created a bride/BM paper dolls with cardstock and sketched dresses and accessories... I put it in great packaging and printed out something in font that said "Meg & Rach. October Paper Dolls." For a BM on FH side that I didn't have a long history with, I mailed her a frame picture of a bunch of us from a recent college alumni football game and included two small (shot sized) bottles of vodka. I wrote a card & she called me so excited. They loved their gifts. For the Jr. BM (Future hubby's younger sis) I got a jewelery box from the local craft store and painted it her favorite color. On the inside I used those little letter beads (every girl must have made a braclet that spelled out their name with them when they were young) and glued a phrase asking her to be in the wedding. I stuffed the box with her favorite candy & put a little flower ring that I got on clearance.
I'm pretty extreme... My future hubby was nervous to ask his guys b/c of what I did with my girls..lol. but i just wanted to make it special. :)
I found, then together we found some more, discount bin DVDs. I think the most expensive one was $5, but a lot of them were 3 for 10 or 2.99 ea.
Some were "real" movies, like 27 dresses was in there, but the majority were B rate, never heard of it before types, all with wedding themes.
The Best Man said his was so terribly ridiculously bad it was hilarious and he and his SO couldn't decide if it was time well wasted or not. He was going to call another groomsman he's really good friends with so they could trade, to see how bad the other one's was! Anyhoo, very well received and a touch I wanted to do, but didn't think I was going to be able to afford... thank you discount bins!

So each of my bridesmaid lives in a different state. I made little cards to send each one asking them to be my bridesmaid, and I'd like to send it with some small gift. I'm just not sure what.
I've thought of a nice candle, a wine glass with their name or something on it, or maybe these sachets in lavender.
My wedding colors are purple, ivory, silver and black.
I've also thought maybe I would get each a purple hoodie and have their name embroidered small on it. This is bigger than I was originally thinking, but thought they might be received well and used between now and the wedding.
I'd love to hear any ideas you have because I'm stumped and would love to send out my invites in about a weeks time.
Thanks, Bee's! :)
