Bees – I’m having a vintage 1930’s carnival/circus Great Depression themed wedding. Sounds bizarre to most, but trust me – it’s going to rock.
Does anyone have any idea where I could get something like the visual attached to this post? I’ve tried some prop houses here in Los Angeles but to no avail. I can’t afford to hire someone to paint it but this is seriously what I am looking for. We have a huge mural to cover at the reception hall and I’d like this in the background for dance party.
Image is from Anthropologie’s February Catalog.

I have no advice for you, but the picture (and your theme) makes me think of “Water for Elephants” which is one of my all time favorite books!

OMG, do want! You might try Etsy or scout local antique stores. Awesome theme, btw. 🙂

Here’s a pretty good list of places with backdrops/scenery in LA. Maybe there is one you haven’t tried yet. http://californiafilmindustry.com/pps-backdrops/. I didn’t see exactly what you are looking for but there are some circus backdrops here http://www.backdropsbeautiful.com/circus-backdrops/

1) Print one in segments at kinkos.
2) Borrow a projector ant paint one yourself. You can project the image you want and paint it like a paint by numbers.
3) Contact a local banner maker and have them make you one. It not like you need a top quality banner.
When you are done you can donate it to a local theatre or school and maybe get a nice tax deduction.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. I’ve got some bigger fish to fry and then I’m going to tackle this. I’m finally getting some things nailed down about the wedding and I think I’m actually starting to have some fuN! 🙂

Hey Bees! I am going to a prop house in L.A. on monday to look for my circus gear! I can’t make my own props because we have no garage space so I’m now looking into renting some circus murals for the reception hall. I am sooooooo excited!

I am not much help in the banner department, but I will say, the TV series “Carnivale” was based on your theme EXACTLY. If you watched it, I’m sure you’d get some fantastic inspiration!

Hi I am having a similar theme for my wedding this October. Can you please let me know if you had any luck finding what you were looking for? 🙂
