I answered another thread with this post but then thought It might stand better on its own, so here goes. If its too redundant, I appologize and please ignore it 🙂
I love the intricate look of a halo and the design factor. I have an ering that is a solitaire and I love it, but there are days I want something a little more feminine and intricate. I was thinking of having my diamond reset, but then i know I would miss having the solitaire. I dont think we can afford another diamond and I have wanted a moissy for quite a while (even before joining the WB)
I wonder if some of you would post the center stone size and halo diameter and finger size so i can become a bit educated. I welcome ANY and all stones….I am looking for design deas and what they look like on real fingers. I am thinking a .5 – 1ct center with a halo diameter of 8-9mm on a size 6.5 finger???? Is this reasonable? I have not even tried any on 🙂
Thank you very much.
PS I am older than most on here and this is my second marriage. I also like the “gap” so anything will fit with my wedding band. It may make some people whose halo’s get called young or trendy (in a negative way) feel better that an older married woman also wants a halo – lol. can something be trendy (in a good way) but also timeless? thats how I think of halos 🙂

Your goal sounds reasonable! You should decide if you like smaller halo stones or larger ones, since I find the proportion to be as important (if not more important) as overall size. For reference, my halo has a diameter of about 9 mm, but my center is a 1.25 carat equivalent moissanite, so it’s 7 mm across and the halo adds 1 mm on each side. My ring size is 5.

Also note that closeup shots can make the ring look relatively larger compared to the finger than distance shots. Here’s another.

That is a beautful ring. For me, I think I want more “halo” andless center….I want the halo to stand out more than the ring, but it is my “second” ering, so I am probably in the minority on this one 🙂 where di yours come from?

Thanks! It’s from Moissanite Co 🙂
I actually really like larger halo stones when they give the halo a bit of a scalloped edge and metal doesn’t show along the outside of the halo. I don’t know if that makes sense… but I think it looks a bit like a flower.

I have a double halo with a 1.01 ct cushion cut center stone. Ring size is 5.75. I THINK TCW is 1.8 or so.

Mine is a .86 center, ring size is a 5. I love it!

My center stone is a .65 carat. And my finger size is is between a 5.5 and a 6. 🙂
They also make wedding rings that are enhancers. So they form a halo around your solitair. You might be able to do that if you still wanted to keep your original ring, like you mentioned. 🙂

I ALWAYS wanted a solitaire, but DH picked my ring out on his own. I couldn’t be happier with my halo! The thing I Love most about it is the plain band with it. It makes it more unique!
Honestly, I’m terrible about being a woman and don’t remember the stats!

@MrsLuca: Hi! I love halos of all kinds! Mine is a little different, my then fiance picked this halo of the few I liked best.
Antique cushion center, 1.6ct, I think 6.8×6.8mm, and my ring size is 4.75. If you shop around for settings, you can really get a deal!

Hi. I am replying to you from the other thread. My ring is a size 7. Center stone is just over a carat at 1.01 and the total ring is at 3.01 carats. I am not sure of the diameter of the halo. My ring was custom made. Hope that helps.

Here’s my halo. Center diamond is .75ct and 1.5tcw. It is size 5.5.
