The problem with saving money ordering online is that the cost of shipping may negate the savings on price per jar. If you can find a seller who delivers to a local retail store, often you can save the cost of shipping entirely. You didn’t say where you live so we can’t help find something close.

Check Ace Hardware and Big Lots

Here are all the current Craigslist ads listed on Adhuntr

If possible, check out local flea markets, garage sales, and estate sales. We run past them all the time and they usually sell for about $1/jar.

I’m only seeing them for $8+, even on eBay. Hopefully you come across something cheaper!

I’m using them as well, and was happy with the ones we found at World Market. They are only to be used decoratively, I think they have a sticker that says not to use them for food purposes, but they are pretty and were affordable.

They sell them online in sets of 6, but they are sold individually at the store, and there were a few different sizes. They have coupons a lot, so I think we ended up getting them for around $2 each for the ones that are about quart sized.

You can paint the outsides with acrylic paint mixed with an appropriate glaze. It will thing out the pigment, be water safe, and still let light shine through.
