I’m new here and hoping for some opinions. I’m lookng for a photographer and have a few options. The two top contenders are below, one is in budget, the other is a bit out of budget (there is about $1000 price difference between the two). Please let me know whether you prefer 1 or 2 and why. Thanks!

They’re both good. It’s a matter of your taste. I personally prefer #2, who I think is better at playing with angles, lighting and shadows. But it depends what style of photography you’re personally more attracted to. Also, photographer #1 doesn’t have many photos from one entire wedding. Ask to see a whole wedding (rather than their 5 best photos from each wedding) before choosing. Anyone can take 5 great photos of a wedding! Engagement photos are not representative of wedding photos. A wedding photographer needs to capture things as they’re happening – there’s not nearly as much time to pose people on a wedding day! Keep that in mind.

spange: Thank you for responding, those are some great things to consider. Right now I am definitely leaning one way, but want to hear more opinions before I say my preferences and concerns.

Photographer 2 seams to have some more unique poses and photograper 1 seams to be a bit more standard but I think there both really nice

I’m actually more drawn to the first photographer. Photographer twos pics are technically very well done but I like the candid style of number one and also his use of different focal points. It would be good to see a full wedding of photographer one though before you make the choice. I think you’d be happy with the outcome of either 🙂

Oh this is a toss up! I really like both of their work. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. #2 definitely has more unique angles but the quality of #1 is also very beautiful. If price is a big factor, I would go with the one in budget because both photographers have great work.

I can’t decide bewtween either! I like both of their styles…
I would say if your not a photography enthusiast and people like me can’ttell the difference go for the less expensive one as long as you feel their talent is of equal value…

#2, all the way! I like number 1 As well but their editing looks a bit amature, and more basic. I don’t think they bad at all, but if photography is super important to you than spend the extra money and go with #2. It’s obvious they are the more expensive as the quality of work if much higher.

Both are really good, but I can’t fault #2 at all. Some of the photos by #1 have some strange blurry sections obviously done on purpose but it just looks a little odd. The couples in #2’s photos also look like they are having a great time with the photographer and he/she makes them feel at ease, which I think is really important!

I like both! I think #1 is more simple and clear, whereas the #2 is more like “fashion” magazine-like and a bit darker/dramatic? I usually prefer clearer/simpler styles, but #2 is definitely awesome!
These photographers actually work in my area too so it’s great that you shared these! Gives me some ideas and new photographers to add to my “check them out” list aha!

Ms.Bee11: I love the second photographer’s work by far. The first one isnt as refined as the second one.

OOOH! I would say #2 – really great variety – I love that they post lots of weddings – makes me think there’s nothing to hide. beautiful portraits and really nice candids. I’d go with them, no doubts!

Thanks everyone! I was leaning towards #2 before posting and am a bit more convinced now. I guess we will have meetings and and then make a decision.
