I’ve just started planning and I’m looking for an outdoor ceremony and reception site in the metro atlanta area. I’d like both the ceremony and reception to be in the same location and I’m definitely on a budget. Any ideas?

@bridetoc: try piedmont park, Roswell river landing, Cator Woolford Gardens at The Frazer Center. I also think that The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite may have an outdoor area. You can have a wedding in the patio (I believe) at The Rhodes House on peachtree. Also try Taylor-Brawner house in smyrna. That’s all I can think of right now.

@bridetoc: Solarium is so great, inside and outside. It’s small (perfect for 100 people) but if you’re looking for something historic… And when you talk to Nikkia, tell her Sara sent you. 😉
I LOVE the Taylor-Brawner house, mostly cause it’s a converted sanitarium and I wanted to put “we’re crazy for each other” on our invites. Unfortunately it’s small too (about 80)
Many botanical gardens around the city can host weddings and parks can sometimes host events as well.
We’re doing ours at Heritage Green in Sandy Springs. Sarah is a wonderful location manager, she lets the place sell itself. They have multiple spots in the park indoors and outdoor. Very lovely.

@bridetoc: I’d recommend taking a peek at The Alexander House in McDonough. They also have their own catering business. They are adding to their outdoor area at the moment and it’s coming along great. I’m not sure how big of a wedding you’re having, but it’s great for 100 or under guests. If you are in that range and interested, I can tell you about how much they gave me for an estimate including their catering. Here is their facebook page.

Huntcliff River Club, just off Roswell road, is fantastic. Affordable, use any vendors you want. Check the photos on facebook.

Love Cater Wolford! There is also a nice place in Sandy Springs I think. A historic center that I saw. Good luck!

Hello fellow Atlanta bride! We looked at Payne-Corley House (Duluth), Bradford House (Flowery Branch), Lake Lanier Islands (Buford), Four Oaks Manor (Buford) and Flint Hill (Norcross). Ours will be at Flint Hill with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour and indoor reception. Other suggestions – Carlyle House (Norcross), The Atrium (Norcross), Little Gardens (Lilburn), Primrose Cottage (Roswell), Vecoma on the River (Snellville). We live in northeast metro Atlanta, hence all our locations were near us. These are all within a reasonable budget, as we were on a strict budget too.

It may sound a little odd to suggest a restaurant, but check out Wahoo Grill in Decatur. I’m getting married there in July, both ceremony and reception. Their prices were so much cheaper than anywhere else we looked, and the garden patio is very pretty.
