My daughter is planning to get married next May. We live in NYC, but she’d like to get married in a pretty spot in the Hudson Valley. Someone suggested Cold River. We want really good food and a simple, attractive place; nothing fancy. We don’t need a bridal suite or valet parking. We’d like to spend just about $75. p.p. for a Sunday afternoon affair for maybe 100 people. Is that unrealistic? Any suggestions? Thank you.

How about Harvest on Hudson? It’s a beautiful river-side restaurant right near a train station.

For Sunday afternoons, Catlin Gardens has a package for $88 pp. it’s really a beautiful venue, though I know that’s a bit above your proposed budget.

We’re getting married at Bear Mountain…it’s $75 pp for a Sunday wedding (which is what we’re doing) and that includes a lot…buffet or 5 course meal, open bar, cake, champagne, set up/clean up, and possibly more…I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Bear Mountain is a really pretty park about an hour from NYC with a pretty lake, and yeah…just a super nice place. Here’s the link for weddings…
Good luck in your search!
