Don’t do Jamaica in July… we went the week before Thanksgiving and it was hotter than Hell.  You should look at Europe, Ireland, England, France Monnoco the temp there in July is warm but not overwhelming and they all have beaches

We went to Italy this past July for our honeymoon and traveled the whole country. From Sorrento north, the weather was fine, but it was HOT in Sicily. I didn’t mind, but it is something to keep in mind. I would highly recommend Italy, we had a phenomenal time even though it is prime tourist season. Just make sure to get tickets booked in advance for tours or excursions. I’ve also been to Greece in July and it is very very hot. If you are just looking to lay around on a pretty beach, it would probably be a fine (albeit crowded) thing, but it is hot hot hot there in July.

Ohhh then … still don’t do Jamaica … What about staying in the states… somewhere you haven’t been.  Vegas, grand canyon, or even Canada.

We are going to Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. It came HIGHLY reccommended from our travel agent. I am SO excited!

ETA: I just noticed your budget and that was the same as ours. Our honeymoon flights included was well within out budget. I have done tons of research on CSA so let me know if you have any questions.

We are leaving really early Sunday and coming back Saturday afternoon/evening. We wanted one full day back home before having to start work again. We found an agent at a bridal show, but I’m sure you can Google travel agents in your area and go in and talk to a few. Based on the lowest price I was able to find online on my own, a travel agent was about $300 more than the lowest possible price. However, if ANYTHING goes wrong (hopefully not but you never know) all we have to do is call her and things get sorted out. All inclusives work heavily with travel agents and they do NOT want to lose all that business.

My friend went to an AI in Mexico thru the same agent. When she got there, they claimed she didn’t have a reservation. She turned around and called her agent, who promptly called the AI. Within 15 minutes, the agent had straightened it out. The hotel staff apologized profusely for the misunderstanding and even upgraded their room for free. That kind of help was well worth $300 to us.

I recommend St. Lucia!  We stayed at a Sandals Resort.  There are 3 to choose from varying in price to accomodate your budget.  We went in Sept. 2011 for our honeymoon, and it’s geared towards newlyweds.
