Haha. My dad put the ring in a little velvet bag so there wouldn't be a bulge so it would be a surprise when he proposed to my stepmom. He shared this secret with me while we were walking into the park he proposed in. :) So there may not be a bulge! It depends on how sneaky he is haha.
I looked for the bulge but FI had the ring loose in his pocket as we were hiking. Once I found out he had crossed a river with my ring loose in his shirt pocket I had a mini heart attack lol.
Let's just hope he doesn't ask you how to carry it if the box doesn't fit in his pocket ;) Now THAT'S romantic.
Haha I've totally done the same thing a time or two :-). What do the pockets look like. lol
I'll be on pocket watch soon too. It'll be 4 weeks on Thursday that J ordered the ring (put the deposit on one). But he's sneaky, and I have a feeling he's going to totally catch me off-guard.
@gocubbies: You could always go in for a super close hug and feel him up, lol. At least that won't make it seem like you're looking for a ring in his pocket.
Oh goodness... surely he wouldn't follow along with that... but I would definately be hugging him more often ;)
This thread is so funny! I was definitely on "pocket watch" the day we got engaged, cos I swore I felt it coming. He hid that ring box well!!!
Haha, whenever SO and I go for walk I always check when walking behind him - don't think he would make things that easy though!
When FI proposed he was keeping the ring box in his sock! So it was concealed by his pants. I had no idea.
LOL DH kept it in the box in his back jeans pocket! We went to see the Nutcracker before he proposed and he said it was so uncomfortable trying to sit in the theater cheats but only on the side without the ring! He originally had it in his jacket pocket but at the beginning of the date I put my arm around him and apparently almost touched the box so he freaked out and moved it haha

So... tonight we had another couple over for dinner and a movie.
We were having a totally casual convo about another couple we know and how he proposed on V-Day. Both of our SOs blatantly said holidays are cliche, and they wouldn't ever propose on a holiday (no offense to anyone here if you did get engaged on a holiday.. This is not my opinion! I'd say yes on President's Day, V-Day, ANY holiday.. lol)
Then, my SO says.. I think you should just carry the ring around with you.. and when the right moment comes you just know it, and you do it then.
So is that his plan!?
That is a damn good idea, and oh so sweet... But now I'm going to be randomly checking for "the bulge" in his pocket -- hahaha! At least the colder weather's coming so he'll be able to conceal it better in a jacket or coat ;)
