If you're in Northern California, I know a local shoppe that sells dresses like that. When I went to pick up my dress, I saw a couple dresses on display with the design you illustrate. Let me know and I'd be happy to give you the info!
I'm not sure of the pricing but I think Allure will fit the bill. C157, 2453, 2463, 8855...
I was at my local Priscilla of Boston a few weeks ago and I saw similar dress for around your budget. They are going out of business so you have to luck out and find a dress your size but you never know.
Thanks, ladies...that was fast! I am in NJ so Northern Cali prob won't work but Allure looks like it's right up my alley, thanks! I thought about checking out Priscilla of Boston--ya never know!
@ItsMeLee: essence of australia is martina liana's more affordable line. maybe there is something there for you.
I love Amsale, too. I got a dress that retails for over $4,000 at Vows (aka Bridepower.com). It was a pristene sample gown that was selling for $1,300. Look at the sample sites!!!
The pre-owned sites:
Pre-owned Wedding Dresses
Once Wed
Recycled Bride
Bravo Bride
The sample/resale shops:
Church Street Bridal (online and b&m, proceeds go to charity, gets donations from Kleinfeld)
Vows (online and b&m)
Your Dream Dress
Le Dress Boutique (online and b&m)
Encore Bridal (online and b&m)
Fabulous Frocks of Charleston (online and b&m)
@ItsMeLee: WOW! Don't know where in Jersey you are but I was at the POB in Short Hills they had a lot of beautiful gowns! My mom, sister, and I bought BM dresses because they were $35 and you can wear them anywhere. I definitely recommend you check them out. Everything is 50% off right now.
@NJmeetsBX: I'm not far from Short Hills--can't hurt to take a look. Thanks!
@dani0885: It's gorgeous and who doesn't love a Vera? The drop waist doesn't look good on me though, but thanks!
Also if you don't mind coming into the city check out the Bridal Garden http://bridalgarden.org/ designers and boutiques donate their samples and they operate as a non-profit. My friend's $3000 dress was only $875 when we went there for her.
Also for something besides David's Bridal Camille's in the Palisades Mall has a large wedding dress selections some with ruffled/flower bottoms with most dresses under $1000. Good luck!
@Jeannine @ Small Chic: That list is amazing! Thanks for sharing :)
I want to say Alfred Angelo had their own inspired version of Dahlia but I'm not seeing it on their website.

EDIT: Oops! You said no dropped waist...missed that.
So my dress is similar to those. I actually bought a knockoff from China. The original wasn't too crazy price wise, 1375, I think at my local bridal shop.
The designer is Justin Alexander Style 9651. I will warn you, I always thought the photo on the model looked horrible that I had to be talked into trying it on. But on it looks great and even better when the tulle is removed. If you want, you can see how my knockoff turned out, i made i post about it here.

Another style I was considering was Eden Bridals 2403. I think that designer is fairly budget friendly
Happy Hunting!
This one from The Limited is similar (and it's only $199!). Not quite as grand, obviously, but still has those "swirls" you like.

I am not sure if you found your dress yet, but I have the Justin Alexander one mentioned above for sale for here. You may be able to find your dress inspirations on PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com too. Good luck!

As it turns out. there is a specific style of dress that I like but evidently I have expensive taste! I'm not going crazy with my dress budget (I'd like to keep it under $1500) so I'm hoping someone can help. Here are two dresses I've found that I love--the designers are Amsale and Martina Liana. Both are strapless, taffeta with natural waists and floral bottoms. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!
