Most ladies usually have to order their dresses bigger to start. My seamstress told me that she could alter the dress 2 sizes down from the one that fit me with no issues. So I would see what size you are in that designer and then stay within the 2 sizes.

I was wondering if you ladies knew the answer to a wedding dress tailoring question. I am looking for a very specific dress -- Grace by Monique Lhuillier -- and I was wondering how many sizes up I can go from my regular dress size and still be able to get it tailored to fit (and so that it looks the way it's supposed to).
I am normally a dress size 2/4, but I've only seen the dress available in larger sizes.
Thanks!
