Check out John's of 12th Street if you're down for old school NY Italian food. They have a full regular Italian menu AND also gluten free and VEGAN options. I'm vegetarian with vegan leanings AND gluten intolerant, but hubby still eats meat on occasion. He's 1st generation born in the US Italian American, and he loves the food here. The place has a feeling like a scene from the god father, which can be a draw or drawback depending on your vibe, but the food is good and the service is accomodating for groups.

Does anyone know of any vegan-friendly restaurants in nyc (ceremony is at 80th and lex) for hosting a rehearsal dinner? I have been to Candle 79 and love it, but that's just not going to fly with the non-vegan crowd. I'm vegan, my fiancee is vegetarian, and everyone else eats meat. I'm looking for somewhere where I'm not forced into eating a salad or analyzing every ingredient to make sure I can have it. I've had my fair share of those dinners and really don't want to go through that at the rehearsal dinner. I often feel like it's really easy to find a great vegan place, but so difficult to find somewhere that is accommodating to all eaters! Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!
