I’m getting married in Leesburg, VA in October of next year. We’ve decided on the venue, but really have no idea what we’re going to do for anything else. I’m the first of my friends to get engaged and don’t know anyone else that’s gotten married in the area.
I checked out the running vendor list at the top, but a lot of those places were in MD/DC, and I’m trying to find as many vendors in the Leesburg area as possible, since I won’t be living in VA and will probably be flying home every few months to meet with vendors and do tastings, etc (and if I’m not home, my parents will be the ones that have to travel around). I know that I’m limiting the area a lot, and thereby limiting the possible advice people might have, but if anyone has recommendations for affordable photographers, DJs, florists, cakes, hair/makeup… I’m not against using store florists/cakes (I love Wegmans) but have seen mixed opinions on them.
Thanks for any advice!

Sorry if I’m late to this for you! We recently were married in Leesburg/Ashburn. I don’t know your budget, but here are a few vendors we used:
Florist: Melle Fleur, Melanie McKenzie. She’s based in Purcellville but can more than likely meet you in Leesburg. She was the BEST money we spent. http://www.mellefleur.com
DJ: DJ D-Mac & Associates. Our DJ was Atticus & he was great, we danced the entire night. http://www.djdmac.com
Transportation: We used trolleys from VA Rides. It was way more reasonable for us than a limo, because they only charge you for the actual time you use the trolley. So if you need it from 5-6, then 10-11, they charge you for 2 hours. http://www.varides.org/ The drivers were great.
Photographer: Amie Otto. She was a huge chunk of our budget, but I love her work. http://www.amieottophotography.com
I don’t want to recommend my cake lady. The cake was delicious (guests told me it was the best cake they ever had at a wedding) and it looked beautiful. However, she was 3 hours late, and was setting up the cake while I ate dinner. She offered no explanation to me, but I heard from my venue that she had refrigeration problems that day.

I would recommend weddingwire.com if you don’t know where to start.
