I really don't know much of the So Cal area- as I've only lived out here for about 2-3 years, but my friend Carolyn just got married at The Hacienda in Santa Ana. Its really inexpensive, I believe and gorgeous!

Check out Hotel Maya in Long Beach. Very hip hotel that was recently remodeled.
Im not sure what your budget is, but depending on the menu and timing, the Queen Mary can be pretty affordable. The Hotel Maya is very nice but its definitely more expensive than the Queen. Try the Reef, which is right down the way from the Queen. they have different package prices and while I chose one of the more expensive ones that included everything, they do have very affordable options. They have a gorgeous deck where you can do the ceremony overlooking the harbor and a ball room downstairs with a wall to wall view of the harbor. I got married at the Grand in Long Beach. Our room had a very deco feel. And it's one of the least expensive venues we found in our search.
BrianneG, we had the same exact room! It was very art deco-ish. And it was very reasonable! Here's a couple more pix of the same venue:

I went to check out the place this past weekend. I liked it! The prices on the website are current (even though it says 2009.) I couldn't get them to call me back with info but took the advice on the outgoing message and just stopped by on a Saturday between 10 amd 2. They had it set up for another wedding.

My dream venue is the Queen Mary with the retro art deco feel. Not sure we can swing that price wise though. Anyone come across other cool venues in OC or Long Beach you can pass along?
